Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

My son was poorly in the car on our way to Legoland and we stopped to ask if we could use the facilities to get him cleaned up. The staff were so lovely and accommodating. Thank you so much for helping us and our upset little boy.

I'm in total shock, I booked this hotel on 6/09/2020 at the same time I purchased my Creamfields ticket for Sunday. For some reason I decided to call them today and confirm my reservation. Firstly they advertise an 0871 number - so basically you have to pay to speak to them, which is abhorrent from a customer service point of view, they just want to make money and fleece customers clearly! Secondly I checked the website with my confirmation number and it said my reservation had been cancelled - of which I had no knowledge. I then attempted to contact reservations and the call rang out 5 different times. When I did get hold of a receptionist, at what I assume was the hotel, she said, ' how strange your booking has been cancelled, I'll have to get a manager to check it out and find out who did it'. Utter shock! Amazingly, the manager called me back, saying they had emailed me on 14th July 2021 to tell me the hotel is cancelling all bookings, 'as it's not open to the public for several months', sorry? Do you have a Covid outbreak, bed bug infestation, why? Because the hotel has been booked by the government. I never received any email, total lies, total disrespect for customers - which they clearly don't care about as they're just after the money. How sad, I'll never use this hotel chain again as they're clearly don't care about their customers!

I had booked an overnight stay via a large website, and upon completion of the booking, didn't notice the website had automatically moved the booking date to 2022. Thankfully!! Upon arriving at the hotel, the car parks were barricaded and the hotel appeared closed. There were tens of foreign men wandering around in the car park, staring at myself and my friend (very uncomfortable feeling for 2 lone females) We entered the hotel, and the receptionist was on the phone for around 5 minutes, with no apology or acknowledgement. This gave us a chance to look around though. There were boxes everywhere of masks and sanitiser. Mounds piled high of bags of clean washing and a table covered in leaflets giving advice regarding migration/immigration, and signs saying the area was in high covid levels. Realised mistake regarding booking date, but by then had spent 10 minutes in a high traffic, high covid area. Once we spoke to staff, we're informed it was closed as they had taken migrants in. I realise it was my mistake with the date at time of booking, but if you go back in to the websites all the information given says a block booking for 3 months. Not so sure I would ever go back there, bearing in mind the hotel appeared grubby, and this makes me question how clean it would be following this block booking.

I booked this hotel over three months ago and they email me today to say they have a block booking, so the are cancelling my booking to accommodate others. This is totally disgusting behaviour and absolutely appalling behaviour by the management. Beware, book here at your peril.

Very unimpressed and frustrated by the late cancellation by the hotel of our booking in early September - this is meant that rebooking in the same area is twice as expensive as it was when we first booked here.

I was sent a cryptic email last week about GDPR guidelines, but it turns out they have just cancelled my booking that I made over a year ago blaming a "3 month block booking". I now have to find somewhere else to stay for Creamfields, and with everything now booked up I will have to stay in a Travelodge for many hundreds of pounds. The icing on the cake - they won't even refund me, they have said that I have to go to my credit card company and request a charge back. After the last 18 months I was so looking forward to this and can't believe how a company can treat customers like this - they deserve to go bust.

I booked this hotel at Christmas for an August birthday present as the festival is on. I was sent a short email this morning staying - 'unfortunately your booking is cancelled due to an exclusive three month booking, sorry for the inconvenience'. This is totally immoral and they should feel ashamed of themselves. The hotel was already fully booked for that weekend so I wonder how many others have had their booking cancelled for August. When I asked of alternative options they simply said we can't help you sorry, we've done a block booking for august and cancelled everyone else's booking. So disappointing and having to spend hours looking for elsewhere given how busy that weekend is. I'm not usually one to complain but given what's happened over the past year I think it's quite disgusting to do that to so many families, regardless of the reason.

I booked this hotel in December 2020 for August bank holiday as a gift. Had email from hotel cancelling my reservation. I contacted hotel to ask reason why only to be told by reception staff that hotel was still closed due to COVID. I challenged staff member as restrictions are being lifted only to be told hotel was undergoing renovation before opening back up! (Seemed like genuine reason) but I felt uneasy as receptionist was rude and hesitant with reason. Please look at reviews below who have also had there hotel bookings cancelled and obviously given different reasons!!!! Please DO NOT INSULT MY INTELLIGENCE, you clearly lied in your reasoning for cancelling my booking made 7 months ago and only given me 6 weeks notice. Your reception staff and company are disgraceful in your approach to customer service snd the way you treat your paying customers that you will no doubt rely on as we truly come out of the difficult time. didn’t even apologise.

I booked this room over a year ago for Creamfields as it is only a little walk away from the festival. They have just contacted me today (only a few weeks before the event) to tell me my booking has been cancelled due to a “3 month exclusive booking”. I am now left struggling to find anywhere in the area as it is so last minute. It’s actually disgusting that my booking isn’t considered as important as this “exclusive booking”. Horrendous customer service!!!

I had booked 2 rooms for August at this Hotel & Spa some months ago. It was to be a family treat for a special occasion The Hotel has just contacted me ( it is July 14th) to advise that they have cancelled my booking as they " have an exclusive Contract ". I have since found out that they are hosting " Asylum Seekers" under this ' exclusive contract'. This is the actual state of our Country now . I would not book this hotel under any circumstances if this is the way they treat their customers. Absolutely disgraceful.
