I have just had a perfectly blissful weekend at Uplands House. The house is beautiful, my bedroom had sunshine streaming in from two big windows, from which I could look out over a glorious garden, full of exquisite flowers. The hostess made me feel very welcome, prepared the most delectable dinners and made my stay quite perfect. I would recommend...

This was our fourth visit to Uplands House, on this occasion to celebrate our Wedding Anniversary. The warmest welcome from Poppy, as usual, the most delicious meals, log fires and champagne on the house. What more could we ask for?

A very warm welcome from Poppy with tea and lemon drizzle cake in the lounge next to a roaring log fire. We had the Chinese room with comfortable beds, fine furniture, pictures and a lovely view across open fields. We ate in on the first evening and enjoyed a good 3/4 course meal with wine - high quality at a reasonable price. The second evening we ate locally and Poppy was able to...

We were staying in the Tulip Room which was cosy and had a lovely bathroom with a nice bath (perfect to warm up in - it was snowing during our stay!) We joined Graham and Poppy...

We arrived with our dog in tow and were delighted to be greeted by Poppy with tea and cake. If you like country houses with better than usual paintings - you'll enjoy staying here. The hospitality is second to none. The weekend got off to a good start when we were able to read by a roaring log fire downstairs...

I chose Uplands House because of its location. Was I glad I did. Our welcome by Poppy, glass of bubbles & Christmas cake for tea, then a few hours later a four course meal that was unforgettable. Truly, a real welcome. We stayed in the Chinese room with beautiful views over the garden & fields. My sister was in raptures...
