The location doesn't get much better than this. In the heart of town and nearly every room appears to have a perfect view. Shame that the decor was tired and sparse. With investment that hotel could be stunning - it just needs bringing up to date.
Nice but rather worn. Some staff are great (restaurant), some are bored. Windows have not been cleaned this century. The food is good but nothing special. - The place is terrific but the management probably needs to change and to get everyone to wake up a bit.
Highly recommend The Old Hall Hotel in Buxton for location, service, luxury and historical getaway. Our whippet was most welcomed. Having a dog, we were catered to in the Lounge for Breakfast for a fantastic breakfast. 24 hour parking permit from Reception for £3.
A lovely hotel with friendly helpful staff. Rooms beautiful and lovely ambiance. I asked for a bathroom on booking and got a shower room but helpful reception staff helped swap room. If booking staycation be aware evening menu stays the same. My biggest gripe was booking direct to save them a commission to Booking.com and at no time being told the price was subject to tax & VAT. An extra £70 I hadn’t budgeted for.
Lovely hotel in the center of Buxton. Great location for looking around the town and the surrounding area. For us we were there for the walks/hiking. Hotel restaurant's dinner and breakfasts are worth a specific mention as were excellent.
