There was a warm and friendly greeting for us here, the room was lovely- we had a double room with an extra bed which meant a little more space and with high ceilings and large windows it was a spacious light room, quiet at night, very comfortable. Very well thought-out, everything we needed and more besides. Lovely breakfast and great...

I rang Elizabeth on the Monday evening and by the Friday afternoon we were settling into a light and airy room with a complimentary cup of coffee and biscuit at the Lowther Guest House. My wife and I had decided on a spur of the moment walking weekend in Derbyshire but at such short notice everywhere with a decent Tripadvisor...

My wife and I spent 2 nights at the Lowther and we thoroughly recommend it. Our room was spotless, of a good size, tastefully decorated and we both slept like logs! The breakfast was delicious and freshly cooked to order and Elizabeth did everything to make our stay a pleasant one. Our room included a fridge with fresh milk every...

A very well set out guest house with comfortable rooms in the middle of Buxton in Derbyshire. We stayed two nights at this guest house. On our first night we placed our orders for breakfast for the next morning with the land lady. Breakfast was perfect, that night she asked if we would like the same again, this was duly...

A warm welcome awaits you at Lowther House. Excellent accommodation with little extras that make it special. Good location near the market square. Comfort of the bedroom was excellent followed by super breakfast. Elizabeth is a super host.

Myself and my girlfriend stopped at the lowther for 2 nights on our trip to Buxton. We were very impressed with everything from the delicious breakfast, very comfy bed and large room. THe place is spotless and Elizabeth is genuinely lovely and friendly. There is off street parking, a fridge and tea/coffee making facilities in the room.

This B& B is a real find. It is located within easy walking distance to the centre of town and has parking for guests. The hostess, Elizabeth, handles her job with good humour and efficiency and has just the right touch of supplying all your needs without intruding on guest's privacy. The room was nicely decorated as was the whole...

We could not fault this very nice B&B. The room was very clean and very well appointed, down to cotton buds in the bathroom and wine glasses along with a fridge. Breakfast was plentyful and the veggie option was great. There was no noise from other guests and we thought we were the only guests until we met the others...

We have stayed at Lowther House four or five times over the last few years. This is always our first choice when we visit Buxton, so we book early to avoid disappointment. Lowther House was a terrific find in the first place and I am tempted to keep it's A1 rating a secret. On reflection I believe that Elizabeth who...

“All the rooms seem good. One seems not to have en- suite but its own lovely large private bathroom: it is on the landing. We like the top room it has three beds and is very quiet, although we have stayed in others which are just as good.”
