A fantastic bed and breakfast, easy walking distance to town but far enough out to be quiet with great walks from the doorstep. We were the only ones staying given the COVID restrictions and time of year but we didn't feel like anything was too much for Neil and Andie. Prior to arrival they gave us a list of recommendations for local restaurants and bars so we could book in advance, breakfast was excellent with a great choice and homemade shortbread and cakes kept us going on our walks. We were also able to take a lunch for the day saving us a trip to a supermarket. The room, Derwent, was spacious and comfortable, with plenty of light and everything we could have needed including hairdryer and straighteners, slippers and dressing gowns. Neil and Andie are very knowledgeable about the local area and could offer advice on just about anything. Fantastic stay, looking forward to returning at some point in the future.…

Property's Favourite Review
Andrea & Neil have mastered the balance between being very friendly without being intrusive. Rooms are scrupulously clean with diligent attention to Covid precautions. Beds are comfortable and our room benefitted from blackout blinds. Delicious breakfasts plus beautifully moist homemade cakes and daily homemade shortbread. Nice additional touches include packed lunches available (small additional charge), little bottles of milk in the room and daily bottles of mineral water. All of the above made for a wonderful stay. I would highly recommend this B&B. Andrea & Neil fully deserve the 5-star rating that they have earned on this site.

Brilliant stay at this exceptionally good B & B. Given the stream of accolades and superlatives already flowing on this site, I don't know if I can add anything of interest that's not already been said, but it is nevertheless a pleasure to be able to offer a further hearty endorsement for this establishment. Of the many things which set the experience of staying at Grendon apart is the beauty and seclusion of the house itself, which occupies a private position on a pretty, leafy lane: perfect for a feeling of rural escape, yet still within close reach of the town. The recent renovation has been done with a clever, understated flair, making the most of the property's generous proportions and providing guests with top-level comforts at the same time as being sympathetic to the house's Edwardian origins. Our room, 'Ladybower', is double aspect, airy and spacious with luxurious flooring and bedding and the bright, well-appointed bathroom is a successful blend of modern and traditional, featuring a roll-top, clawfoot bath. Breakfasts are extremely well done here: cooked with care and a generous hand. Andie and Neil have comprehensive knowledge of Buxton and environs and offer tailor-made guidance and advice. On arrival at this stunning B&B in Buxton we were warmly greeted by our lovely hosts Andie & Neil who sat down & had a very friendly chat with us advising us of the best places to visit & eat in the area. Our room, Errwood, was stunning with two comfy armchairs to enjoy the glorious views, we also had delicious homemade biscuits & cakes, bottled water & milk in the mini fridge together with plenty of tea, coffee etc. The bed was huge & comfortable, the bathroom was outstanding with a roll top bath, double walk in rainforest shower, good quality toiletries together with comfy dressing gowns & slippers, hairdryer & straightners were also provided. Breakfast was delicious cooked perfectly & plenty of choice. I can’t recommend this beautiful B&B & our exceptional hosts enough.

First time staying in Buxton, excellent location within easy walking distance to the town but quiet enough to feel like you’re in the country. The house is beautiful, as was our room. So much work has gone into it. Andie & Neil were great hosts & made us feel very welcome. The breakfasts were gorgeous. We certainly hope to return for a longer stay in the future.
