We held our wedding at The Swan in Hay at this newly refurbished beautiful hotel in Hay-on-Wye. The help from the management was excellent, very responsive to what we wanted, helpful and reassuring. The food was very very good - we had 30 people sat down for a three course dinner and the imagination of the menu and the quality...

It really is hard to find anything wrong with the Swan. We stayed in a large deluxe room with a huge and very comfortable bed. Made even more comfortable by a proper mattress topper. The room and bathroom were immaculately clean. The building has been beautifully renovated, the staff couldn't do enough for us, and the location is ideal for...

Came in for dinner following the massive refurb that recently has been completed and I was amazed, the quality throughout the building is great and their "garden room menu" was unbelievable in taste and quality using fresh ingredients and modern techniques throughout with extra courses included for free! The menu was very reasonably priced for the quality received and front...

Called in for food with friends tonight! The food was delicious! And very reasonably priced! The hotel looks fantastic after the big refurb! Staff were also very helpful. If you do eat here the chocolate brownie is to die for!

We have been coming to the Swan on and off for years. In the olden days it was charming, but a bit chintzy and tired, although the food was excellent and the welcome was warm. The hotel is just coming to the end of a year's refurbishment programme and we were delighted to see how well they've done. We stayed...

Stopped by on a rainy Sunday for lunch. The Hotel is undergoing an overdue makeover by it's new owners. We were greeted by the restaurant manager who was so bright and engaging. She explained the Hotel was relaunching early February after a bit of neglect and if the standard of the hotel is anything like the standard of the lunch,...

We were here for the wake of a dear friend. The hotel decor has been upgraded considerably and the food was nicely displayed and set up and the room was nice for the type of gathering it was for. The cakes & sandwiches were very smart and cakes were to die for especially the lemon drizzle. The only let down...

Six of us booked for New Years Eve, having stayed in the hotel under different management about 6 years ago for the same event. The hotel is in the process of having a total refurbishment, the bedrooms have been upgraded to a high standard, the beds are very comfortable and once the hotel has finished being completely refurbished it will...

The staff were great. Our room had a really comfortable bed and the bath/shower was well done. Some more 'storage' in the way of drawers would have been useful as would some net curtains or window-blinds. Breakfast came cooked just as I wanted it and in enough quantity and quality so that I left an empty plate on both days....

We stayed at The Swan for two nights, 29th & 30th December and found the whole stay to be really lovely. The room we had has been recently refurbished and was comfortable and well equipped with comfy chairs, good hanging space and hairdryer - we particularly loved the king sized bed, which offered a view out of the restored original...
