Decided to take a staycation, as COVID 19 limited our choices. Great location 10 mins from Chepstow, and easy drive to Bristol area. First room allocated “Daisy Cottage”, sounds much nicer than it is, close to reception but no view, and only window was obscure glass around the door. As staying for 5 days, asked for another room, this one in lakeside village, as name suggests room over looked the lake, and we watched the swans every morning. COVID style breakfast service, no buffet but pastries, yogurt and juice served first followed by cooked items, just ask and eggs cooked as you like. Staff at breakfast remembered our preferences, good way to start the day. Dinner was delicious best sea bass I’ve tasted; so good I ordered it twice, compliments to the chief. Security man Jorge, cheerful and a credit to the property, showing guests around the one way COVID safe route with a smile. We used the gym, staff working well within the COVID restrictions. We’re not golfers so no comment on the course.

Two nights bed and breakfast, and two rounds of golf.... the golf was excellent although there was a cock up on the first day meaning they had double booked the tee time and we ended up stuck between 2 four balls with no where to go! The hotel it’s self has set up for social distancing and is very cold and unwelcoming, the bar area is set up with a big projector screen and no where that you can get away from the groups of golf societies. I would recommend that you book the restaurant as on both evening we were told there was no availability and we would have to eat in the bar area, not something that I wanted to do. The groups although sat on different tables were getting up missing with other tables and not wearing masks which we were not happy about. Check your bill we were over charged in the restaurant, if a golf break with no frills is what you are after then this is the place, if you want a bit more from the accommodation then I wouldn’t recommend.

Stayed her for a 2 day golf break, staff were all very diligent and went beyond to help with anything they could. Including one of our groups dietary requirements. They couldn’t have been nicer. The room was fine and shower good. The golf course is nice, few good holes and a few easily forgettable. Shame some of the facilities like the half way house and bar aren’t available but thats totally understandable. Driving range is a bit on the expensive side with £5 for a bucket of balls. Overall a good experience in the current restrictions and we felt it was well controlled.

What a poor experience & haven't even stayed there yet, just told the spa is only open Thursday Friday & Saturday, then told its fully booked for next three weeks. The website is crashed & it took an hour or more to get an answer on the phone. I only hope our stay goes better

Stayed here for 3 nights. Evening meals were ok and reasonably priced. The biggest let down was the breakfast. It was pre-cooked and luke warm. They must've bought the cheapest sausages around and the bacon tasted like it was microwaved. The staff were brilliant but the kitchen were unprepared for anyone with allergies. It was a circus every breakfast time to get the food out. This is a Marriott hotel. I just expected better from them. This is the only hotel I've been to that doesn't have gluten free options available.
