Owners are trying to squeeze a few more drips of 'hotelling' out of this old 70's motel, but they may be flogging a dead horse and I suspect the smell of excavators cannot be far away! Photos of my room make it look quite good but I'll be honest, it appeared that the same person that gave one badly painted...

Firstly I would like to say that not everything was bad about my stay at the chiltern. My room overall was pretty good, the restroom in particular, the bed was just two single beds stuck together but I can let that slide on a cheap room, the wifi was surprisingly good. Now on to the now so good things, the...

The hotel is fine for a short stay (overnight) and was clean and tidy for £65. The room however was absolutely boiling hot and the heating would not turn off. Unfortunately the rooms proximity to the busy main road meant having the windows open would have made it to noisy. I didn't complain as it was past midnight. I wish...

This was without doubt the worst "hotel" I have stayed at in quite a while and even worse than your typical Travel Lodge! Unfriendly staff, décor in very poor state throughout, dirty rooms, lights not working in room, bed well past its use-by, poor quality bedding, average breakfast. Need I go on!
