As the title says, although I have given this an 'average' rating, it wasn't bad - it just wasn't brilliant, or 'very good'. We spent the first night of a five week trip here, and although the room was big and spacious for the four of us, the fridge didn't work, and we were up in an attic area that...

Booked this hotel for a relaxing 2 night stay between Christmas and New Year - the location is very accessible and the spa facilities looked good. Upon arrival we were greeted by a friendly member of staff - although he kept having to interrupt us to answer phone calls - and directed to our room. Some previous reviews had described...

Lovely hotel in Rural Berkshire. Room was spacious and very comfortable. Staff were very good and food was outstanding. Leisure Club was very enjoyable with a very large swimming pool. The hotel is about 3 miles from Newbury so use of a vehicle is necessary. Very enjoyable weekend

Nice hotel but we had an issue with our meal on new years eve as I had to send my pudding back as it had not been cooked enough. After waiting 20 minutes I then had to approach the restaurant manager to see if I was going to receive another one to be told oh there has been a miss...

I booked a secret escapes break as a surprise for my husband's birthday. The staff were pleasant and welcoming, we used the pool and spa facilities which were great and ate in the restaurant, for dinner and breakfast, which was also excellent. The room was a decent size, clean and comfortable. Overall I couldn't fault our stay and I'd definitely...

We took advantage of a two day stay including breakfast and dinner on the first night which was great the room was spacious and well equipped with excellent bar, restaurant and gym and pool facilities. Local shopping, walks and a few nice pubs too all in all a good stay.

Booked two nights on a secretescapes break but rang and added a third night on b&b basis. on the first night we had dinner included with the secretescapes break, we enjoyed the meal and service so much we asked if we could change the third night to DB&B which was no trouble to do, both meals were excellent, however the...

I visited this hotel for an afternoon event. I used the bar, (when a member of staff eventually appeared). I have a suggestion about economics for this hotel. If you charge £2.50 for a single small-sized cup of tea, I will only buy one. If you had charged £1.50, I would have bought two. This would generate 50p more profit...

Stayed at this hotel on a business trip. Check in was fine and the room was spacious, clean and modern. I decided to eat in the bar rather than eat alone be in my room. I went to order a drink so I could ponder the menu, to be confronted by a young barman, who I later learnt was a...
