This hotel is absolutely eccellent! I stayed with my family for two nights and it was just fantastic. The food is very well cooked and served. The rooms are very big and comfortable with T.V. and desk fans available on request if you get too hot. The location is brilliant. It is close enough to Scarborough to go out, but...

Having scoured accomodation this hotel stood out booking 2 nights for Katherine Jenkins,we booked a standard room which is not cheap but did include breakfast, found ourselves with a room not refurbished. The room was basic and if not for the fan we would have melted even more so than we did having to open the two windows to bedroom...

Spent one night in a deluxe room for a special occasion and was not disappointed. It had recently been refurbished and was absolute luxury. The evening meal was also excellent.I would definitely stay again but perhaps in a standard room as it is more affordable! The deluxe room is worth saving up for a special treat.Diane and Geoff. Hull.

This is a wonderfully atmospheric Gothic building set away from it all in its own large and beautifully manicured grounds. The staff are friendly and although they are gradually renovating the rooms, even those that have yet to be painted are still good. Apart from the setting, the best aspect was the food, which was innovative, delicious, superbly cooked and...

Had a excellent two night weekend stay at Wrea Head Hall. The food is exceptional. One of our party is vegetarian and often has below standard meals at some quite upmarket hotels and restaurants - not at Wrea Head Hall. On both evenings the food for everyone was superb including a risotto and stroganoff for the vegetarian. Main courses for...

Stayed for one night, a getaway for us from the rat race. What a lovely experience, helped by the lovely weather allowing us to take Pimms on the terrace overlooking the grounds. Felt like staying in a stately home! Room 15 recently refurbished, so lovely and clean with a fabulous view. Both evening meal and breakfast were very good and...

We stayed three nights at the hotel. The setting and the ambiance are delightful. Everything is tasteful and subtly understated. Original features of the building have been retained and taken as the design clue for modernisation. Paneling in the library and stairway was reflected in the new decor of the bedrooms. The quality and choice of the food were excellent...

Wrea Head was chosen as part of a birthday present built around the Status Quo gig at the Open Air Theatre in Scarborough and is the type of hotel that appeals to the person at the centre of the weekend in the way that it is set in a very quiet location with above average standards of accommodation. The hotel's...

The hotel is situated in grounds away from any noise, the spot chosen by the Rowntree family as their home I understand. The house is set in a prominent place and has a period wooden staircase and panelling downstairs. Our room; we found the bed to be very hard and the hot water supply was not hot at all times,...
