I opted for a short getaway to this much-trumpeted (their own marketing department?) refurbished hotel. It was disappointing- from poor reception staff, through to a claustrophobic, tiny and noisy bedroom, overstuffed with clutter about the hotel - no actual place to put my own small travel bag. The downstairs lounge and bar areas were busy with late lunch/early tea people,...

Location is superb with the most amazing views of the Jurassic coastline from the bar terrace. The overall appearance of the hotel is lovely, all very fresh, clean and modern. The room was lovely and spacious but was unbearably hot despite it being only 20'C outside even with the windows kept open all night. Lovely sumptuous bed with quality bedding,...

I stayed here 2 nights as part of a large business group. The hotel is situated at the far western end of Sidmouth beach with stunning views across the bay, and has obviously been very recently refurbished to a high standard. There is a beautiful bar/terrace/restaurant with huge windows that make the most of the outlook. The (small) outdoor pool...

I stayed for one night only in a standard sea view room. My room was small but very tastefully decorated in a modern seaside style - I was impressed. Couple of niggles mind , if you go to all that trouble to refurb a hotel why not put WIFI in the rooms - instead you had to sit in reception....

Beautiful hotel, amazing sea view room we had, spotless, recently done up.complimentary gin and sherry upon arrival, mini bar in the room, although that was a bit pricey but if money isn't a problem, well worth it.we had a bottle of champagne in our room when we got there as well,in an ice bucket with champagne flutes.that may have been because they were aware it was...

As usual we were leaving late to book a holiday for the first week in September, this was in first hale of August. We had looked at destinations on the south coast including Sidmouth but nothing appealed to my wife. Then she saw the Sidmouth Harbour Hotel in a Bon Marche magazine and said it looked good. I went straight...

Room was noisy, due to kitchen vent close by. Service was patchy. Would not stay again I am afraid. Did not live up to its description. Publicity good. Reality not so good. Waited at least 30 mins for desert menu then left without having one.
