We stayed at Woodlands Hotel for 2 nights with friends and our dogs. We were all made extremely welcome. The dogs even received their own welcome pack. The hotel is a fantastic old building with a lot of history. The bedroom was beautifully decorated with everything we needed for our stay, the ensuite was small but the shower was great....

Dan, our genial host, welcomed our group, tired after a long days walking and in short order, he showed us around the hotel, discussed food preferences and booked us in to The Dukes for supper. The " honesty bar ",in the conservatory set us up for that. Our room, number 24 was not exactly massive but fit for purpose and...

We were welcomed by Dan & Megan and although we could only stay 1 night we felt completely at home. We had been let down by another venue who had messed up our booking. The Woodlands would be our choice next time we visit the Sidmouth area. The room was well designed and spacious with all we needed for a...

We stayed three nights. The hotel is comfortable and the rooms are a good sizemwith all amenities. The couple running the hotel were very pleasant and helpful. It is well located about five minutes into the centre of town. The lounge areas are very comfortably furnished and the self service bar is a great idea. Breakfasts were cooked to order...

Two nights in the hotel which is welcoming and clean. Our room was a good size. Walking distance to the shops and the seafront. We did not have dinner there so cannot comment on that but breakfast was good. I would recommend

Very friendly, and very comfortable hotel. A lot of history too, making it a once in a life time experience - over 700!years old, owned by sir Walter Raleigh at one time, visited by countless notables, the list goes one. Come and see for yourself.

Stayed two nights. Took opportunity to upgrade from standard room to a superior room, which was a good call as I think the standard room would have been a bit small for a couple. Proprietor did say it was best to discuss room sizes when booking. Service and amenities first class. If you're looking for a good quality hotel and...

We have just returned from a 3 night stay at the Woodlands Hotel which was recommended to us by friends who now live in Sidmouth. Dan & Megan made us and our dog so very welcome from the start. Our room was comfortable, well equipped and spotlessly clean. The breakfasts and the evening meals were of a very high standard....

Just returned from 2 night stay at Woodlands and cannot speak highly enough about the experience. Frequent visitors to the area but first time staying here. Room was excellent, food and service second to none and owners welcome and personal attention to detail was much appreciated. Will definitely be back.

I only stayed the one night. There was ample parking space and the hotel was a short walk from the town and seafront. I was warmly welcomed and the room was very comfortable and spotlessly clean. Breakfast in the morning was excellent and I would have absolutely no hesitation in staying again.
