The room was small, but adequate - had everything I needed. Shower room would have been improved by a fixed cubicle rather than a curtain. Very adequate meal in the evening - just £10 for 3 courses! Amazing value. Breakfast also very nice. Staff charming at the desk and in the restaurant.

This hotel was booked in a rush as we had just cancelled a break due to illness : it helped that we know and like Sidmouth How to start? "I have never stayed in such a nice hotel, even 5* on business trips. I used to work in customer care /relations and I used to say" always treat people as...

Booked two rooms for ourselves and Daughter and her new husband. Two excellent rooms as usual. Newly refurbished bathrooms with wet room showers. Personally I would prefer a shower with a removable shower head rather than the large fixed one. Great views from rooms, one on the front and one with views looking over Peak Hill side. As usual all...

The room 18 has a large balcony and looks out directly over the sea. The food was excellent and all the staff are very friendly and helpful. We would gladly go back again in the future. We stayed half board and really enjoyed the evening meals. Breakfast was also very good.

Lovely traditional hotel in a prime position on the seafront. Friendly reception and lovely clean room with a new en suite. Breakfast was excellent and the service could not be faulted. Dog friendly. Would certainly stay again.

My sister and I spent a lovely couple of days at The Bedford at the beginning of October. This, being our ninth visit over a period of 5 years …ish, though previously accompanied by parents and brother-in-law!!! We were given such a warm welcome, just as we were on our very first stay. Everyone asked after Mum & Dad which...

Never having been on a coach trip before my sister-in-law stayed in the Bedford Hotel in Sidmouth and wondered what to expect. From the outside it wasn't the best looking hotel on the front but we couldn't fault the friendly service and the food was excellent! The staff all looked happy and were anxious to please which is something these...

I stayed in a twin room at the Bedford at the end of October and had a very pleasant stay. The room was very clean and the bed comfortable. The food and service were very good too. My only negative comment is that for a male the toilet seat will not stay up (room 14). For someone who kneels to empty...

This was a last minute booking and chosen purely on price. £70 bed and breakfast for 1 night - probably the best deal in Sidmouth for half term. I wasn't expecting too much but what a very nice surprise. Everyone was so friendly and polite. I didn't use the restaurant. The room was clean, functional and pleasant. If you're expecting...

The hotel itself is lovely! Very decorative and modern. The bathroom was very nice and the shower was powerful which was wonderful. House keeping, food and general atmosphere was brilliant. The staff were very helpful and the two ladies on the reception were above expectations and just generally lovely women, (short brown hair and long blonde hair, both with glasses)...
