Beautiful setting, close to a derelict church and Shaw's Corner, outside sitting both at front and rear of pub. In a narrow country lane so sitting at front was still peaceful. Clean premises, friendly staff and good food. Adequate off road parking. Can also buy some locally made jams and chutneys at the pub. There are also some lovely walks...

Met some friends for lunch on Saturday. Chosen as half way between both couples. Not an easy place to find or get to very narrow country lanes to negotiate. However on arrival found a very rustic looking inn. Not a lot of parking on site but plenty of room on the roadside. Dining room in keeping with the external appearance...

Historical pub in a delightful little village set in the chilterns, real fire and good quality food with a vegetarian option on the menu, it has a pub garden at the back with plenty of room, well worth a visit

We went for lunch today after a recommendation, 4 people ordered lunch at about 1pm, by 2 pm our lunch had not arrived and more rude and annoying was that nobody came over to apologise for the extremely long delay. I spoke with the staff and they told me it would be in the next 5 minutes, 15 minuets later...

I have previously reviewed this establishment and found it wanting. Delighted to say that it is under new ownership and they have made a real difference. My review is based on two visits the first as a couple and today as part of a group of walkers. On both occasions the fire was lit in the bar, service was quick...

When on business trips near London, I try to stay here. Just a short drive from all the buzz in the city, This is set in a very narrow road in the middle of nowhere. Very cosy and nice surroundings for a walk before dinner. Very friendly and serviceminded staff - feels as You are invited as family. A real...

We stayed in February 2017 for one Friday night in the main bedroom (room 1) above the pub. I have been to the pub many times in the past 20 years, but never stayed, so was curious to see what it was liked. We thought the room was well presented, shower and bathroom very clean, bed comfortable and overall it...

All was going quite well until the slats supporting our mattresses gave way in the middle of the night. They had clearly failed before. Hopefully the staff will eventually spot the issue and replace the beds. Breakfast was good but very slow and we were put off by chairs on tables in half the restaurant which was not at all...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
*UNDER NEW MANAGEMENT FROM 8th NOVEMBER*Please pop in for a warm welcome, warm open log fires and great food and beers x. This delightful country inn was built in the 14th century and retains all the traditional features including inglenook fireplaces and a wealth of exposed beams. Following its closure last year we have carried out extensive refurbishment of the pub and rooms. This has resulted in us being awarded 4 star inn status by the AA reflecting the high standard of the accommodation. We have also been fortunate to find a fantastic chef who is using fresh and, where possible, locally sourced produce to create unpretentious modern dishes. We look forward to welcoming you to The Brocket Arms. ... more   less
