We stayed here on Saturday night, rather than the Ibis/Premier Inn or Travelodge, and we are so glad we did! We checked in just before 3p.m., and Tom was very attentive and explained everything to us and showed us to our room, which was excellent, spotless and very comfortable, also includes a little jar of flavoured toffees, plenty of drink choices and biscuits...

Adele (Tina) is a great host - Tom checked us in and was friendly and knowledgeable - the cleanliness of the room was second to none but the best thing about this guest house is the welcome you receive - we were very well looked after and cannot wait to stay again. The breakfast was superb and well cooked and...

Friend and I visited for one night. The Guest House was excellent. Room very comfortable and spotless, liked the toffees :-) A great location 5 minutes walk to the centre of Carlisle and in a nice area with permit parking provided. Breakfast was fantastic and nice to meet Brian the Carlisle fan over breakfast. But most important of all the...

My husband and I stayed here a couple nights and had such a great time. The hosts were so warm and welcoming and went out of their way to make sure we had what we needed. There were always plenty of snacks and teas/coffees and we were able to use some of their guidebooks when we walked Hadrian's Wall. The...

Having never been a guest house fan, I have to say this had made us definitely change our minds! Adele and Tom are the best hosts in their beautiful historical house, which is not only the perfect central location, but also an escape from the central 'typical hotel' type accommodation, more a bespoke boutique experience with owners that are more...

What a very nice B & B. A lovely welcome and afforded a very comfortable room at very good rates. This was all topped by a classic breakfast which set me up for the rest of the day. The hosts were very friendly, without being gushing and were clearly proud of the service and establishment that they run. This is...

I stayed at Cornerways Guest House for my graduation at the University of Cumbria. It was like being at home from home. The breakfast is great. Friendly owners who go out of their way to make sure you are comfortable and will not hesitate to walk the extra mile for you. I can recommend it without hesitation
