booked a premier room at the Premier inn, Junction 44 from Thursday 18th March till Saturday 20th March. On arrival I checked into my room. When I was asleep in my room I heard a soft knock on my door which I ignored as I had a ‘Do not disturb’ sign on the door and it was locked. Nonetheless suddenly the room door swung open. I immediately stood up feeling extremely anxious that someone had entered my room and was advised by a man in his 50’s, heavy set and balding that ‘he was just checking the room.’ I was in a state of undress and felt compromised and unsafe. Despite my fear and alarm I explained that the room was occupied and he mumbled an apology and left. Owing to that experience I felt extremely unsettled and decided to return home that same evening rather than stay another day. My concern was that a staff member had entered my room without permission to do so and intended to steal from my room. Before leaving I approached the female receptionist to explain what had happened. She was completely disinterested. Reluctantly she did so however her attitude towards me continued to be dismissive and disinterested. When I explained what had happened she told me that she did not know anything about it and staff have a right to enter rooms at any time owing to co-vid measures. Why was the man who entered my room not wearing a mask? What was the purpose of him entering my room? What was his intent? Did he intend to steal from my room? How would you feel if this happened to you?

Hi Stephen Thanks for taking the time to share your review. I'm really sorry to hear a team member entered your room whilst you were sleeping, especially as you had the do not disturb sign on the door, I appreciate you wouldn't expect this to happen. I'm also sorry to see you felt the receptionist wasn't interested when you reported this to her. I've raised your comments with the Hotel Management so they can follow this up internally with their team members and they'll implement any necessary actions and retraining to ensure your experience is not repeated. I apologise for any concern caused and hope you'll give us another chance in future for a much better stay. Kind Regards Amy

Hotel's Favourite
I booked the Premier Inn as it was the only hotel in the area that was open. I'm a key worker and was on my way to Edinburgh. No complaints. You have to order food in as nothing is open in the hotel, or pub next door. Room was clean.

We stayed as a group of 3 overnight - check in was easy and felt very secure given current COVID measures. The premier plus room we had booked did not disappoint - spotless, modern, double shower, coffee machine and water - little touches that made this feel far from the budget price we paid. We ate in the restaurant and the burgers were juicy and piping hot - I ordered a random combination of starter chicken wings and chips as a meal and they were more than happy to accommodate. We were actually given a £5 voucher each towards a drink which virtually offset the price increase to the plus room. Breakfast was cooked to order and the swift and pleasant service by Sam was fantastic. Considering this was a last minute booking out of necessity we couldn't have asked for more. Great job Premier Inn.

We have stayed at this Hotel on our return from the Highlands for the last four years, tonight being the 5th, last year wasn't the best but the hotel has out done themselves in their levels of incompetence this year, I booked a Premier plus room earlier in the year and arrived to be told it was a double, I told the very friendly receptionist (sarcasm intended) I would find my confirmation email, "don't bother because you can only have a double" I find it really amusing that companies that have been hit hard by Covid so readily use it as an excuse to offer appalling customer service, she also had a black computer screen, how convenient, I will choose an alternative in the future and it's obvious to me how empty the Car park is that others are too

Hello there, thanks for taking the time to share your review. Whilst we're happy to hear you stayed with us, we're sorry for the service you received when checking in and the Plus Room wasn't available despite you reserving this. We can imagine the experience left you feeling let down and this certainly isn't how we want our guest's to feel. Just so you know, we've now made a record of your comment's and have passed them to the hotel management team to see what improvement's can be made going forward. We wouldn't want standard's like these to continue so this will be raised with the team to ensure any necessary retraining is arranged and the best service is being provided. We hope this doesn't make you think twice about returning so please have confidence this isn't our usual standard and your comment's will be picked up. Thanks again for getting in touch and we hope to see you again soon. Ricky

Everything was as expected. Reception team welcoming and helpful. The room itself was spotlessly clean and comfortable. The hotel is having refurbishment done but you would never know. Meals can be purchased and although they say take away you are able to sit within the restaurant to have them you just have to book a time. Breakfast times had to be booked because of the covid restrictions but that is not a problem. Everything table service but you could have as much or as little as you liked.
