The hotel is located on Scotland Road, Carlisle. Providing easy access to the motorway and Scotland or England. Checkin and checkout were simple and quick. The room was very clean. The bathroom had a very good shower plus free shampoo and shower gel. Food can be supplied but due to our schedule we did not try it. Parking is on the corner of the block, the hotel provides parking vouchers all works very well.

We stayed for one night while doing Hadrian's Way. It is handily located for that trail and easy to find. It also offered us an early check in so we didn't have to hang about once we'd completed the first section of our route - just as well as it was the wettest day of our holiday! The room was clean, well laid out , comfortable and quiet. It also had a large bathroom (good to spread our wet gear out) and an excellent shower. They normally do evening meals, but this had not reopened following lockdown. This was not a problem as they was a choice of eating venues nearby - the one we chose was only 100 metres away. At this time , cooked breakfasts weren't available, but each room had a small fridge which contained an excellent continental breakfast. To compensate for the lack of cooked breakfasts they generously provided us with free packed lunches, which was much appreciated. Although no staff were available on site until 6pm the self check in worked well and when we met them they were helpful and friendly. A great start to our holiday and we would definitely stay again if visiting Carlisle and would recommend it to others.

Just visited for the bank holiday weekend. Firstly have to say the owner was brilliant letting me swap my dates last minute. The hotel itself is in an excellent location, a pleasant 15 minute walk to the town centre, castle etc and only 5 minutes away from a beautiful park and the river. There are two pubs, a chinese, a lovely Indian restaurant and a sainsbury's just across the road. The angus is very welcoming and clean and has a nice lounge and dining room available with plates cutlery etc available if you choose to eat in. There is local information provided and whilst we couldn't have a cooked breakfast due to covid, I imagine it would be lovely. Our room had a double bed and a single with plenty of extra pillows and covers and well stocked tea, coffee etc. The bathroom was slightly small but was perfectly clean and useable. The road was quite busy and I was worried about noise but actually couldn't hear anything in our room at the back of the house. Only problem I had was church bells ringing every 15 minutes all through the night but couldn't hear it with the window shut. Would definitely stay here again if in the area. Well worth the money.

Nice and quiet rooms and excellent Covid precautions. Comfortable double bed. Generous Continental breakfast in fridge with yoghurt, granola, fresh fruit, pain au raisin, cheese, juice etc. Complimentary packed lunch to compensate absence of full brekkie with awesome triple sandwich and other goodies. Highly recommended.

Thank you Rachel & Martin. This place was my home during the whole period of the lockdown ! If you are visiting Carlisle, no better place to stay in. Very central, nice area, parking always available & shops on your doorstep.
