Stayed here for business for a couple of nights whilst working in Colchester. The room was very nice and clean. The bed was comfy and the room itself had a nice homely feel to it with a nice view from the window. The staff here were very friendly and welcoming and always had time for a chat whenever you were leaving for work or coming back in the evening. A very quiet location and only a five minute drive into town. The only negative was the slow internet connection which is frustrating when you have reports to type up but apart from that it was a nice stay.

Hotel's Favourite
Been staying here for a few days very month since it reopened in July - a returning guest must be the highest recommendation. I even chose to move here from another local hotel which had been previously arranged. Rooms cleaned well - clear explanations about how we need to act within the premises. Reception staff always friendly and helpful. For a mid-range hotel the room facilities ar good, with free wifi, tea/coffee. Decent TV and the sofa-bed is confortable to use as a seat to relax on. Never had a problem with noise, even though not far from the railway and a major road, so get a good nights sleep. Links with the Beefeater, where Breakfast is excellent, and definitely worth the price. Situated close enough to the centre of Colchester to be able to walk to other services/resturants/facilities. I've enjoyed walking along the river after work.

Well we didn’t get further then the front door! My profoundly disabled daughter was admitted to Colchester hospital this afternoon... I booked a room online.. or I thought I did! We arrived and were told that because we couldn’t prove that she was in hospital we couldn’t stay. We were asked to phone her for her to give evidence.. I explained that Sarah is profoundly disabled and doesn’t speak!! I said could I phone someone .. I was no because the call centre wasn’t answering, I tried to rebook online and the site wouldn’t let me!! We gave up and we googled B and Bs and a lovely lady answered, believed me and let us a room!! Why would I drive from Kent to Colchester on a Sunday evening in mid November in the middle of a pandemic if it wasn’t an Emergency... premier inn you need to check your policies and make them more human... you have lost a customer because of your rigid policies that don’t allow for different situations...
