Visited this place several time over the last month. Not too sure what has happened but the quality of the food has not been great. Use to love coming here! I visited on a Friday and somewhere like this should be fairly busy. Only a few tables were occupied. The food was ok but not to their usual standard. The...

we got a room for 3 people - one king bed and one double sofa bed, room was huge, bathroom very good and shower nice and hot. if you have breakfast make sure you check if it is included. Local to everything and make sure you get the parking card that reduces the 24hr rate to £5 from reception.

We booked this Hotel for a couple of nights whilst visiting family in the area. All the staff were extremely friendly. The room was very comfortable, good shower and great bath. Light in bathroom could of been brighter. Attached to lovely looking restaurant which was very busy but we did not have time to try it. Delicious breakfast. Discount parking...

We were only in the North Hill for about 14 hours, but we were made very welcome by all the staff and enjoyed our short stay. As mentioned elsewhere, there are a LOT of stairs, but that didn't concern us at all. Special mention for the breakfast, which was cooked to order and excellent. Happy to recommend the North Hill...

Stayed in Room 1, which is adjacent to staircase, but I'm not sure that explains it. Date of stay 13 March, what on earth was going on until past 4.00am? Furniture being dragged around, loud conversation seemed to come from floor above. Was there some kind of night time maintenance taking place? Excellent breakfast to be positive

I was visiting Colchester for a half marathon and needed somewhere central to stay. Stayed in a single room which was on the small side but perfectly formed - very clean - nice ensuite as well. It ticked all the boxes. I must give Emma a very special mention - she is an amazing team member - so helpful and...

This is a difficult review to write... We liked the place a lot but we experienced two issues that were too relevant to be ignored. So let's point out the pros and cons of the hotel. PROS: - The building is nice, clean and the atmosphere pleasant. - The location is good (few minutes from the high street) although a...

Hi, thanks or your review...I haven't responded for a while but your one as prompted me as it does offer some difficult challenges! it sounds like on all levels that we normally judge ourselves you have given us a glowing report. With regards to the 'Architectural Barriers' you are of course correct, we have a lot of stairs without ramps....

Visited Colchester for one night to go to the theatre. Lovely friendly staff, very helpful, very clean, excellent breakfast - all in all a great stay. The only downside was the fact that I wasn't given a voucher to ease the cost of parking in the NCP carpark when I paid and left despite the fact that I enquired as...

This hotel is very nearly excellent. Our room (at the back of the hotel which is quiet) was lovely and clean and very spacious. The dinner and breakfast are both very pleasant. The staff are patient and very helpful, and the car parking issue is not really a problem. But why oh why do so many hotels only provide ONE...

You know, I think that this hotel was one of the best I've stayed at in a while, and I've been at the Crown Plaza, the Hilton, and Holiday Inn in the last few weeks alone. Is this the most spacious hotel overflowing with amenities? No. But this isn't what I'm judging my rating on. The room was good for...
