We spent 2 nights here for my husbands birthday which is also Valentine's Day. The experience though brief , left us both feeling incredibly relaxed and wondering what excuse we could think of to return. From check in to departure I cannot fault any aspect of our stay and even though the restaurant was full on Valentines evening, there was...

very enjoyable stay, overall very impressed. Staff were helpful and friendly and the gentleman who checked us in gave us brief information on a short local walk which was helpful, offered help with bags too. The room was lovely with three windows and an ensuite (Oak room) standard room i believe. It was very light with wonderful views of the geese...

Really friendly (British) staff; very welcoming. Not only was the food superb, the quantities were generous. Great staff. Quiet location. Had a perfect break and if I was to be that way again, I'd definitely stay there

Friendly pleasant and efficient greeting before being shown to 'Cedar'. Lovely room with everything you could possibly want, including tea and coffee, water, toiletries and even a small area with settee and TV. Great view from the window onto the lawns where a peacock, magnificent cockerel, hens and ducks were happily pecking about below us. Fresh milk was readily available...

This was our second stay and we stayed in a separate bungalow. The accommodation was very comfortable and spacious, particularly liked the fresh milk in fridge, comfy bed and quietness. The hotel itself is very cosy and a real country retreat. Our dinner both nights was of a very high standard, the menu was exciting and everything was absolutely delicious...

Just what we were looking for, for a quick stop over. Really nice (standard) room, good dinner/breakfast, friendly efficient staff, cosy bar/inglenook, log fire. Garden looked nice, for a much warmer day.

We had a delightful family Sunday lunch at the Farthings Hotel. The hotel is set in a delightful Somerset village within easy reach of Taunton and is located in a very attractive classical property with a very well tended mature country garden with ducks and even a peacock! Lunch was very good indeed, Roast Pork which was a lovely cut...

Spent such a pleasant one night stay here. Hard to fault the hotel, from food to welcoming staff to bedroom and even to the position of hotel - opposite a cricket pitch. Shame my stay was in the middle of Winter. Still the roaring lounge fire was so welcoming. I will have to return again in the Summer to take...

Had a lovely one night stay in this hotel (it was a Christmas present from one of our children) . The staff were welcoming and the room was lovely. The weather was really cold but there was a roaring fire in the lounge which was delightful. The food was excellent so all in all a real treat.

A pleasant stay. Beautiful building, gardens and excellent food. Decor slightly dated but everything spotless. Rooms well equipped and spacious. Friendly, helpful staff and food top class. The peacocks added that little bit extra and I'm still thinking about my duck egg scrambled eggs - delicious.
