I have stayed here with my wife last month, management wasn't nice at all, ignorant and not helpful. Asked for a different room bigger room but she talked about prices straight away, which I was going to pay the difference anyway. Why would she bring the price up first, instead of asking the problem or availability. Not a nice approach.

I stayed overnight in the middle of a house move. Unfortunately it was a windy night and something was hitting off the scaffolding outside. This was not the fault of the hotel - they can't help the weather anymore than I could. When I mentioned it and suggested maybe the contractors could be advised to be more mindful of loose...

We arrived late on after being stuck in snow. The check in was very quick and receptionist was lovely. On arriving in the room it was very dated and could smell smoke. The hotel looks to be under some sort of renovation so was a bit of a building site. The bed did not seem like the usual premier inn...

Relatively new and all modern facilities ---- yes been extended but no real interference Good Beefeater next door. But what makes it outstanding is the staff ! All are so helpful and nothing is too much for a positive response ! Christine works until 10.00pm and is so considerate. Was a little bit cautious when I arrived as here for...

This hotel is undergoing major building works, therefore it was not in its best state, but nevertheless, some enthusiasm or minor interest in customers by receptions staff (except for the guy who checked me in), would have been appreciated. Wi-Fi poor. Just plain dull stay.

Really nice staff, lovely clean welcoming hotel and would highly recommend. Should really of got the name of the lady who worked until 10pm on Friday and Saturday night who was truly lovely and friendly! Quite central for several different areas and a nice Beefeater next door for evening meal / breakfast. Would definitely stay again!

Unbelievably helpful when a crisis occurred. Wonderful value for money. room was immaculate and well heated. Shower was over-bath but had non-slip surface and was really powerful. Really exceed my ratings in every aspect.

We've stayed at this hotel a number of times now as an overnight stop between Essex and Northumberland. We keep going back because we know what to expect and booking at least 3 weeks in advance means that the price for the room is reasonable. We'd booked two rooms, but only needed one. On entering the room on the ground...

Stayed here in December 2014 with my brother for 1 night because we went to see the panto in the Civic theatre (with The Chuckle Brothers) and thought it was very comfortable, nice comfy bed, nice breakfast and everything was what we wanted! The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is that the lock on our bathroom door...
