Check in was easy and quick, no forms to fill out! Free parking under the hotel. Contemporary decor, kept to a high standard. Very clean and modern. Main reason for review; the food in the Kings grill is divine! By far the tastiest lamb dish I have ever had! This chef deserves a medal and I will definitely be returning...

A big team dinner at the mercure and accommodation. Private dining room which whilst big for our party, was made to feel warm and intimate. Great food, generous portions and well presented. Mix up with menu dealt with efficiently and with charm. None of us minded. Really great service from attentive staff, especially the young lady who oversaw our pre-dinner...

We thought we'd try out Sunday roast after recommendation from friend. Wasn't disappointed - restaurant decor is really very pleasant and relaxed environment inside with a nice view out into the town centre. Staff were very pleasant and helpful. The menu was very good value at I think £13.95 for 3 courses and was great quality with really decent portions....

We dont get a night away from home very often and though a peaceful night with no children would do us good but unfortunatly...

10 members of our family enjoyed Sunday lunch at the Kings yesterday 12/03/17 The setting and experience was very enjoyable and relaxed for all. Good quality food and service at a very reasonable price per head.

Fantastic accommodation, very helpful staff and exceptional value. Expected to pay much more given the short notice but was pleasantly surprised. Tea/coffee and kettle provided as well as iron and board, hair drier and the basket of toiletries were good quality too. Def recommend!

After staying in many hotels we found this not to be of the standard we expected it to be. The first half of the hotel is really nice, the part that they allocate you is 2 to 3 star at best. On entering the room the heat hits you. No room temperature settings, just a radiator valve to bend down...

Made to feel welcome, relaxing environment, tasty variety of food, value for money. Special thanks to our waitress Jessica who looked after us perfectly. Great location in the middle of Darlington. Would definitely go again.
