We stayed here for 5 days. We had a balcony room which was in view of the pier and sea.Straight facing is a grass hill, we were lucky one morning to see a billy goat munching on the grass. At the top of the hill is the cable car perfect location when it is open. . When you leave the...

The Grand Hotel is one of those places your Mum and Dad took you to during the school holidays, if you were born before 1960 that is. Opening in 1855 this fabulous old worldly hotel just reeks of history and on entering, its like travelling back to the 1930s when hotels of this kind were enjoying their heyday. The hotel...

We were a party of 4 one of whom was gluten intolerant. The staff were very accommodating in that regard and were generally very friendly. Accommodation was comfortable and clean. Rooms were so warm we had to turn radiators off. All in all, good value for money.

as Britannia's go this is one of the best---new carpets in rooms -- modern t.v.--bedding clean and crisp---bar and coffee shop clean and well run--most of the staff are great with a couple of exceptions who just don't want to be here--pick premier sea view for best rooms---food good by Britannia standards.

The Grand Hotel reminded me of a once-glamorous actress that is now living on past glories, its former beauty undermined by age and the passage of time. There are still remnants of its glorious past - the cathedral-like entrance lobby, for example. But the rest is tired and tatty. I stayed on the top floor. Walking from the lift to...

The management and staff worked hard to present great atmosphere and extremely helpful to make the stay enjoyable for all our party. Excellent DJ and Bands. The best Britannia hotel we have stayed...

We booked this hotel for our 39th wedding anniversary. The room that we were allocated was like something from the servants quarters very small just fitted a double bed pushed up in a corner. We were not happy so were offered another room which was slightly bigger but very dark and dingy, nothing like the ones shown on the web...
