My husband and I found ourselves with a weekend free after a particularly stressful few weeks. Booked on a whim, Bodysgallen Hall provided the perfect place for us to relax and unwind. The grounds are beautiful and we enjoyed walking through the masses of snowdrops. The pool is a good size and perfect for a quiet swim. The staff in...

A return to a Hotel we have enjoyed occasionally for many years. Hotel, food and staff exceptional. Spa is not really my 'bag.' However husband is a gym fanatic and was impressed by the equipment offered and enjoyed his sessions. I enjoyed pool, steam room and sauna. Staff there very helpful and pleasant. Our room, dinners and our walks though...

Probably the best Afternoon Tea that we have ever had, made perfect by the excellent service provided by Adrian and the astounding beauty of Bodysgallen Hall and its surroundings. First class, and highly recommended for anyone enjoying a break in Llysfaen, Conwy, Colwyn Bay, and Llandudno areas. The staff are immaculately dressed, ooze five star service, and the Hall is...

There is no disputing that Bodysgallen is a beautiful place and after having been a longstanding spa member until 8 years ago l was looking forward to my day of relaxation only to receive a perfunctory reception as the member of staff sitting facing me as l stood at the reception desk continued to talk to colleagues to one side....

Whilst this Spa visitor, whom we remember well, obviously enjoyed posting this diatribe, we long ago learnt that we can learn most from the strongest criticism, whether fair or unfair. Where there is a point a remedy will be found. We do wish to assure others that this is NOT a fair representation of Bodysgallen Spa, which is well and...

My wife and I stayed here, for one night only - sadly. Excellent location, the snow drops looking fantastic this year. Really excellent hotel with fine food. Both dinner and breakfast good and tasty. It is like being transported to the 19th century, but with 21st century amenities. Excellent Spa facilities. Staff could not do enough for you, always happy...

I have only just discovered this gem - totally impressed and now spoiled for anywhere else I'm sure. I have tried the Celtic Manor and the St. Davids Hotel down south, I've tried Lake Vyrnwy Hotel & Spa in Mid Wales and this place, for me, has it all. Firstly, the building, a given. The location, unbeatable. The setting, gardens...

I love these hotels and after trying middlethorpe we decided to splash out on Bodysgallen. Wow, it did not disappoint! This hotel is beautiful. The atmosphere is amazing and I look forward to visiting 'our country manor' again. The only downside was the evening meal which I didn't rate much and the price is pretty high and we got charged...

My wife and i had the pleasure to stay at his superb hotel over the weekend. We were in the area collecting a dog from the local RSPCA. As first time visitors we can fully endorse the positive reports on Bodysgallen Hall. It’s a fine old building with very civilised modern facilities and a relaxing atmosphere. Dinners and breakfasts were excellent. We had a lovely large room with four-poster bed and glorious view over the grounds at the back of the hall. No tea/coffee making facilities in the...

We called in one Sunday afternoon recently to enquire about booking a room in February and also hoping to have afternoon tea. We are sorry that these guests were upset when we could not serve tea to them on a busy Sunday afternoon, without a reservation being made in advance. Whilst it is possible to arrive for coffee, luncheon and afternoon tea without making a booking, many of our guests prefer to do so to avoid disappointment. The reviewer arrived on an...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Standing in over 200 acres of its own parkland to the south of Llandudno with spectacular views of Snowdonia and Conwy Castle. Believed to have 13th century origins, Bodysgallen Hall provides all that is best in country house hospitality. Beautiful gardens include a rare 17th century parterre of box hedges filled with sweet-scented herbs, a rockery with a cascade, a walled rose garden, and several follies. Historic House Hotels Ltd bought and rescued the house from a dilapidated state in 1981 and restored the 17th century house and gardens. In September 2008 Historic House Hotels Ltd and its interest in all its properties were given to the National Trust to ensure their long-term protection, with all profits benefiting the houses and the charity. The 15 extremely comfortable bedrooms in the Main Hall offer several different room types, including the four elegant principal suites. Each bedroom is individually decorated and furnished with antique furniture, paintings and prints, enjoying glorious views of Bodysgallen's parkland or gardens, with some rooms having further reaching views of Conwy Castle or the distant Mountains of Snowdonia. There are 16 cottage suites with picturesque names like The Smithy, Box Cottage and Pineapple Lodge, are situated in the grounds, and provide accommodation for guests preferring a greater degree of privacy. Many cottages enjoy their own private gardens and some are in close proximity to the Bodysgallen Spa. All are charming and delightful. The Dining Room in the main hall has been awarded three rosettes for fine dining by the AA - the only restaurant in Llandudno to be awarded such - and offers imaginative meals prepared from fresh local produce and complemented by fine wine, and overlooks the gardens and has been recognised as one of the best places for Sunday Lunch in the United Kingdom by The Observer newspaper. The Spa is approached by a short walk through the garden or by a private road. Converted from an original stone built farm it contains a magnificent 50' swimming pool edged with comfortable reclining chairs, whirlpool spa bath, steam room and sauna. A superb gymnasium has all the latest technologically advanced equipment, suitable for all ranges of fitness. A comfortable Club Room is a place where guests and members can relax and enjoy drinks and light meals, which in the summer are also served on the terrace. Residential guests have full use of the Bodysgallen Spa.Bodysgallen Hall is situated about 2 miles south from Llandudno and the North Wales coast. It is surrounded by over 200 acres of beautiful gardens and wooded parkland. Bodysgallen Hall has magnificent views of Snowdonia, and Conwy Castle. It's the perfect setting for a relaxed holiday at all times of the year. The hotel is ideally placed for visiting the many historic castles and stately homes in North Wales as well as the famous golf courses that adorn the coastline. ... more   less
