We were with a group of 100 comprising veterans ,wives widows and families and stayed at The Cumberland from Friday through until Monday. The service offered by all the staff was excellent who provided continuous support throughout our stay. To accommodate such a group with unique dynamics and requirements can be a challenge and the hotel staff exceeded our expectations....

Having stayed here Friday 11th-13th March via a package deal with opal travel (53 of us) BB&EM food was faultless as was my room (106) I know a few of our party moaned about their rooms but that's probably because they were jealous we had a sea view with balcony !!! My son booked the Cumberland Tea for him, myself and 4 other members of our family. We arrived 1/2 hour early but this caused no problem and were shown to our table. We were told there would be a slight wait as we were early and the food was freshly made. We were sat in the conservatory looking out over...

Enjoyable carvery lunch. Views of the sea and all facilities of the hotel are available. We have found it extremely difficult to find an hotel or restaurant offering a genuine carvery lunch. The Cumberland is a good average hotel on the seafront and at the time of writing this review car parking, although difficult is free on a Sunday. Would...

We have a dancer who has major food intolerance and they catered specifically for her needs The hotel is on the beach front and is only a five minute walk to the...

On walking through the doors one could not help but notice how clean everything was this also showed in the lift and bedroom although there were some areas that were tired and dated but this was being addressed as I could see in some areas. The staff without exception were very helpful and very polite without going over the top....

All the staff we encountered we very professional, cheerful and friendly, nothing seemed too much trouble for them. The room was "cosy" but comfortable and spotless and the food was excellent, but I thought the portions were a little mean. Even though it was a very busy Valentines weekend everything functioned smoothly. We will definitely retuen

We stayed overnight for a function in January. The public areas and the food are fine. However, the guest rooms are out of the 1960s and probably haven't been refurbished since then. The hotel above the first floor is in a serious need of renovation. Candlewick bedspreads, chunks out of the furniture, cold bathrooms as the heaters have been removed...
