I visit Eastbourne on a regular basis and this hotel is an absolute gem for both price and comfort. Yes, there was, as always, a few niggles. No shower curtain but quickly addressed, unable to open sash window and a little dated. However, for £35.00 single room, with breakfast, toiletries, sea view and tea, coffee and hairdryer I am not...

Attended a family wedding early May and venue for reception was here. Nice hotel, although didn't stay as was told no rooms left as there was two weddings on that day. So cant comment on the rooms. Two toilets in ladies loo's, one out of order to cater for all the women...really need to sort that out! Layout of wedding...

I organised a group of over 100 people who reserved the hotel for a long weekend and the staff couldn't have been more helpful or friendly. Communication before the event was excellent and they made sure we had everything we needed in advance, including getting in ale for the group. During the weekend they were exceptionally helpful which is a...

Recently refurbished room, lovely colours. Staff were very helpful and friendly. The breakfast was also very good, continental or english. There was entertainement in basement although not very well attended but that was probably due to the time of year, April. I would definitely recommend this hotel. Good position also.We had a sea view room and at night you could...

The building itself may be a bit dated, but the staff made us feel so welcome that it didn't matter one bit. It was also one of the quieter hotels I've stayed in, although I'm not sure whether this was a factor of our room location or just the layout in general. Couple this with a great location and I...

Came here as part of an organised event, and got room for £40, which was a fantstic price. I wasn't expecting to get much for my money, but everything at the hotel vastly exceeded my expectations. Rooms were a good size, lots of wardrobe/cupboard space, and I got a partial sea view despite not paying the £10 surcharge for a...

We were with a group of 100 comprising veterans ,wives widows and families and stayed at The Cumberland from Friday through until Monday. The service offered by all the staff was excellent who provided continuous support throughout our stay. To accommodate such a group with unique dynamics and requirements can be a challenge and the hotel staff exceeded our expectations....

Having stayed here Friday 11th-13th March via a package deal with opal travel (53 of us) BB&EM food was faultless as was my room (106) I know a few of our party moaned about their rooms but that's probably because they were jealous we had a sea view with balcony !!! We was puzzled that our coach was leaving at...

My son booked the Cumberland Tea for him, myself and 4 other members of our family. We arrived 1/2 hour early but this caused no problem and were shown to our table. We were told there would be a slight wait as we were early and the food was freshly made. We were sat in the conservatory looking out over...
