Visited recently, mid-week, good enough just for sleeping and showering and the staff were friendly enough. The target audience is definitely towards the older age group. The rooms and decor are very dated. The rooms are extremely hot, which I find unacceptable for 2017!! No air con at all, had to sleep with the fan (provided in the cupboard) and...

We stayed here several years ago and enjoyed every minute of our visit. Unfortunately the hotel has become part of the Britannia hotel chain and no longer retains it's former four star ⭐️ standards. Staff were friendly but visibly overworked and under resourcesd. Facilities were shabby and the corridors terribly hot with no ventilation. The place smelled like an old...

We generally book a night stay over, due to work meeting scheduled at the hotel the following day. This is the second time we booked to stay, we came last year and it was faultless, this stay was like a total different hotel. The double room was terrible, the room we were given a sauna would have been cooler!!!!!!possibly a health...

Made a last minute booking over Easter which went smoothly and was able to get one of the few parking places at rear of hotel for which a charge is made. The young lady on reception was immaculate in appearance, formally polite and efficient. However it would have been so much nicer if she had smiled occasionally. This is a...

Very disappointing. It was quick service but no cutlery, serviettes or sugar for drinks brought to the table. The bread for the sandwiches was dry, the scones were stale & the bite size pieces of cake were tasteless. Staff didn't come back to the table at any point, so many trips to the bar were made to ask for forgotten...

Stayed last October, We booked several rooms and could not fault it. So we went back two days ago arriving at 9pm and you would think it was a different hotel. Receptionist did not smile only interested in getting us to upgrade to a sea view and getting us to pay £4 to park the car over night in their...

Cannot believe that the hotel actually charged me for a no show despite me being in the actual hotel on dates. Contacted them but very little discussion or understanding from them. Fault did lie with booking.com who did not confirm one booking and when rebooked hired charged for the duplicate booking. No explanation whatsoever. Disgusted with the lack of respect...

Stayed here on the 15th. Booked late so we were advised there would be no window. No problem, we were aware of that. However there was also no source of temperature control or ventilation we discovered upon arrival. The heat in the room was stifling. We complained about it and were advised by the duty manager that that is what...

all the staff in the reception are rude. it felt like they need extra effort for your enquiries but that is their job! management should look into this or maybe they are ignoring it as there are a lot of reviews that mentioned that staff are rude! please save your money to pay for this hotel. rooms are dated ,...

My room was best available double, but was a pokey small room with small double bed. For same price previous years I had always had at least a large double bed which is normally mandatory in a four star hotel. In the bathroom there was old soap covered with hair. The bedside lamp did not work so I had to...
