On the plus side, the service from the one staff member we met was excellent. The room was quiet and clean. The Wi-Fi worked with a bit of patience. Location is ideal for sea front. Everything else will throw shade over your life. The room fittings took me back to a 1950's era of the typical seaside resort, saucy postcards and...

Ellesmere was nice enough for a two night stay. The staff we did meet were friendly. Our room was at the top of the hotel at the front of the building overlooking the square so we did, in a way, have a sea view. The room was fairly basic with everything one could need. The wi-fi was untrustworthy and we...

We had to be in Eastbourne for a one night stay and chose this hotel because of its location and the price. Okay, so the hotel is a little outdated but it's clean and comfortable. The hotel staff were really helpful. We had a good night's sleep as it hotel is in a quiet location and the bed was comfortable....

We stayed here for two nights on a room only basis. The lady who checked us in was very pleasant and friendly. We had room 10 on the third floor. It was very clean but was also well overdue for refurbishment. The beds were comfortable, but the room itself needed quite a bit of work to bring it up to...

We have no one but ourselves to blame for staying here, we really should have checked out traveller photos instead of the professional ones! Very dated and mismatched, so overwhelmingly depressing, especially the view from the room at the rear of the hotel! Talk about a dump. This was my first visit to Eastbourne but it will definitely be the...

The only positive thing to be said that the owner when on site was very nice, but very little knowledge of the basic details, especially the location of the public transport,he did say that all the information was in the leaflet he had given us on arrival, but as he was not in the building we were never given this leaflet. Now the...

We started at this hotel and ended up leaving at 1.00 am, as the bed was so uncomfortable that we couldn't sleep. It was so dated, dingy and dowdy. The bathroom wasn't clean, there was lime scale around the taps. The bathroom had a filthy carpet down, that felt grimy. Please also be very careful of rugs that turn up...

I stayed for two nights. Nice quiet room. Good bedding and pillows. Sadly no WiFi. Great bathroom with bath and bidet. And, very good breakfast. Friendly polite owner, too. Highly recommended for price range.
