This is an old farm that actually overlooks the sea. It's stunning, rustic and delightfully quiet after a lot of playing tourist. The rooms are beautifully appointed and quite large. The innkeepers are SO helpful and friendly, even washing up our clothes after we had spent 2 days slogging around castles and ruins in the rain. Now THAT is going above and beyond! The view from our window of the sea was lovely. Southwood was a quick drive to St. Davids - WELL worth the visit - and a number of excellent restaurants in the little neighboring villages. We really enjoyed going down the hill to the sea side - walkable but we drove it. Breakfast was perfect and their specialty is poached eggs - perfectly done. There are 2 shared bathrooms but it was not a problem, even with several other couples staying when we were there. In the one at the top of the stairs, there's an odd door, about 30" off the floor level. Just a regular room door but we never figured out where it went and then forgot to ask. If you find out, let me know!

It was with a slight sense of foreboding that we followed the circular path across the fields and up through the woods in the shadow of the darkly brooding farmhouse. The wind battered our senses and the grey clouds hurried past. What have we let ourselves in for? A very warm welcome, the best shower we've found on the coastal path, oodles of hot water, a comfortable room and a convivial evening over a delicious supper while Storm Ali did it's worst outside. This was more house party than B & B, generously and most ably hosted by Paul and Jo. A gem.

Thank you to Southwood Farm for a truly excellent Sunday lunch for 9, for my mother's 90th birthday. The food was delicious. There was a large choice of different meat, with ample vegetables with all the trimmings......all home cooked. The desserts were fabulous with a great choice. All of my family had a great time with you. Thank you, from us all.

The room we had had a wonderful double aspect, looking over the hills and Newgale beach. Breakfast was anything you wanted, from a bacon 🥓 sandwich, beans on toast, eggs Benedict, cereal, or the full English.
