Ended up paying £107 per night as they add more on for a dog. For that you get a very worn room with not great smelling bedding. No breakfast. No fridge. No WIFI. No decent tv just an old 19inch tiny thing. No host interaction in person only via txt message. Newgale has nothing there so to not offer breakfast and then not provide a fridge in a hotel aimed at surfers and walkers is terrible. You want to get up eat and go but you cant as you cant even bring your own food and put it in the fridge. Lovely location but the room was terrible for the price. Just to add the pub downstairs is a separate business and that was great.

Supply + demand dictates the price ... I couldn't find anywhere else to stay within reasonable distance of Fishguard ferry. It was a triple bed room .... but I am solo - so I was obviously paying more than I needed to .... but there were no options ! Room is OK. Clean, with en-suite. Great location across the road from the beach. Rooms are on top of the hotel. No 'hotel' noise ..... but a whirring fan (I thought generator ?). Thankfully the whirring noise stopped at exactly 11pm ! No wifi ..... downstairs in the pub ... also has no wifi....

It's such a shame - this pub is in a fantastic location and has so much potential but the service is awful. We went for Sunday lunch a few weeks ago, and the food was fantastic - honestly, hats off to the chef! However the service was just appalling. We waited for 5-10 mins to be seated eventhough it was almost empty, with waitresses behind the bar seeing us waiting, and ignoring us. After we sat down and were told it was table service only, we waited 15 minutes to be asked what drinks we wanted. My partner went to the bar to order in the end, to be told to go back to the table. It still took them a while. We saw that happen to another customer - a lady approached the bar and asked for a drink, and was told to go to her table and they would be right over to take their order. The only thing is, the girl who said it then just turned to another girl working there and carried on her conversation (which wasnt work related) and left the customer waiting. After we finished our food, nobody came to get the plates for almost half an hour. We ordered more drinks, which arrived, and two girls behind the bar were standing directly in front of us chatting, and neither bothered to take them away, even when they brought our drinks. Finally someone came - he looked like he worked in the kitchen - and he was the only person there who had actually smiled at us and asked how it was etc. On top of this throughout our time there, every time we ordered something, one of the girls would just come back to our table and wave a card machine in front of us - she never said how much anything came to, or said thank you or anything. Please can someone from this pub just take charge and put some oomph behind all of the staff? It has so much potential so its a real shame. My partner refused to go back there eventhough its the only pub in easy walking distance from the campsite next door, and throughout our stay at the campsite we heard a number of people complain about the service.

Ordered Cod & chips tonight, I have to say that it is quite possibly the best I’ve had in years. Beautiful flaky cod, crisp light beer batter & chips were delicious. The portion size is massive, I couldn’t actually finish all of my chips which disappointed me. Helpful, cheerful staff who couldn’t do enough. Thank you for a delicious meal, great value for money & I will be back very likely try the steak next time as it looks incredible x
