If you are looking for a relaxing beach holiday look no further than Sugar Bay Resort! My friend and I spent 10 days at the resort and fully recommend it! From the time we checked in to the time we left we had ***** treatment. The staff are amazing and go out of their way to make sure you are happy and have the best time. Special thanks to Kay, Ryan, Aykeem, Shakira and all other restaurant staff who provided top notch service with a smile. We also ate at Umi and Sizzle which were both incredible. To Darrian, Joshua, Nicholas, Joan & Helen at the various bars. They were all so friendly and made sure that we had lovely cocktails and good conversation. To Romaine and other beach sport staff, thank you for your service with a huge beaming smile . They are all very entertaining and rallied up people for cricket on the beach, paddle boarding and kayaking! Explaining which fish and wildlife I saw while snorkelling in the bay was also a lovely extra! At the front desk the Concierge Staff Jemini, Latina, Lashonda were very helpful and friendly. The food was delicious and there was an abundance of choice over our 10 days there. We went on the Cool Running catamaran tour which was such fun and it was great to see a bit of the island and swim in the crystal clear water. QP restaurant (formally The Cliff) was a special treat! It’s such a beautiful setting and the food is amazing. We were lucky enough to attend their Soca night with special guest stars. Thank you Sugar Bay for making our stay in Barbados epic! We will definitely be back!

First let me start off by saying that I had the best time at Sugar Bay. My father and I stayed for 5 nights and also celebrated his birthday while at the resort. Everyone who worked at the resort was attentive and welcoming, making our stay one to remember. There were some special standout individuals who really went above and beyond during our stay. Restaurant(s) Staff: Special thanks to Kay, Ryan, Aykeem, Shakira and all other restaurant staff. They made sure we were well fed and had everything we needed during breakfast, lunch and dinner. All the food we had was delicious and well cooked. Bar(s) Staff: Special thanks to Joshua, Joan, Nicholas, Shaquille, Helen and all the workers at the bar(s). They were always attentive and working hard to make sure everyone was having a good time with a drink in hand. They moved quickly to make sure everyone was served in a timely fashion, going out of their way to make sure we were all happy. Front Desk and Concierge Staff: Special thanks to Jemini, Latina, Lashonda and all the other concierge staff. Thanks for coordinating the private beach dinner for my dad’s birthday. Thanks to Bobby our private waiter who took great care of us. He felt really special and it was a beautifully put together evening. We appreciate you all and we will definitely be back!!! Sincerely - LeTitia and Andy

Great hotel, idyllic views and overall a fantastic holiday all round. Staff were friendly and attentive, food was lovely and a good variety of local and international. Great cocktails at the bar, especially Tyrese and his electric lemonade!

Me & my Fiance stayed here for 14 nights, we wanted to visit the Carribean & wanted a relaxing holiday for those 14 nights. We chose Sugar bay because of the reviews it had, we were greeted upon arrival with a drink & very friendly staff. Checking in was a quick & easy process with no issues, we were taken to our room by a helpful member of staff who explained a few things in the room & regarding breakfast, lunch & dinner. The room we stayed in was a nice size, plenty of hangar space, an iron, ironing board, TV, kettle & drink making facilities. The beds are very comfortable & the balcony we had was again a nice size with a nice view. The entire staff expect for 1 are all delightful, friendly, welcoming & can't do enough for you. There was only 1 member of staff (Nicholas) who we found rude & unwelcoming. He never smiled or even said hello, when you asked for something you almost felt like a burden to him and you shouldn't be ordering anything. The restaurant is nice, the food is 10/10. The only downside is there isn't much variety, so if you are a fussy eater you will not get much food to eat but again the food is amazing. There is another area to get food 'Colin's bar' which equally does fantastic food. There are 2 other restaurants which are free - for 14 nights you'll get 4 meals free, any extra is chargeable at the end of your stay. There is Sizzle steakhouse & Japanese food, we went to Sizzle the second night and loved it that much we went all 4 times there. The staff that work there are absolutely fantastic and can't do enough for you, and the food.. the food is AMAZING! The hotel itself is very small which was actually a nice change, it wasn't busy due to this which if you want a nice relaxing holiday it's perfect! There are 2 swimming pools in this hotel - the main swimming pool is a medium size but is VERY shallow, the deepest part of it is only 3ft deep. When we first arrived we were very disappointed but as the days went on we enjoyed it as you can walk around & relax without worrying about staying out of deep water. The 2nd pool is a tiny pool, I personally wouldn't even call it a pool - it is actually a pointless thing to have. I haven't seen a single person go in there & it is right next to Colin's bar. The main downfall to the pool other than the depth is the bottom of it almost feels like a cheese grater, it's very rough on your feet. The beach is fantastic too, the downside is the amount of seaweed but the hotel itself can't do anything about that! There was turtles that come up and lay eggs, we were so lucky to see baby turtles hatch and make their way to the sea! There is an abundance of sunbeds on the seafront so you'll never find yourself without one! If you're planning on going to Barbados I highly recommend this hotel! We had an amazing 2 week holiday and can't thank the staff enough for making it that amazing!

Had a great experience at Sugar Bay from the moment we arrived the fantastic view from reception to the turquoise waters, what's not to like. Staff were first class, so polite and welcoming. Food was good and plentiful something for everyone and nothing a problem. In a great area too, although we found it was too hot other than to lie on the beach or by the pool and order lovely cocktails. Entertainment was also very good. We had a tour round the Island with Michael some beautiful spots and when we come back we will ecplore more. Oistins was a great night definitely worth a visit. Thank you all from The Andersons (all the two's)

We had a really lovely week here, the staff made up for the tiredness of the room as they are all so friendly, helpful & happy. We had a sea view room (405), which was at the far end of the hotel & as I said, it was a bit tired but comfortable with a fridge, tea/coffee making facilities, safe, TV, iron & ironing board & a decent sized balcony with chairs & table. The beds were very comfortable too. There was such a happy, relaxed atmosphere which rubbed off on the guests & everyone was so friendly towards one another. The setting is beautiful although there was some seaweed which spoiled it a bit, but that's nature... The food was generally very good. There was nightly entertainment, which was actually very good, especially the girl group Virgo, which another reviewer has mentioned. The pub and arcade were fun! It's a decent 4* & I would definitely go back.

This is my second visit to Sugar Bay & I can say it has not disappointed me, from the moment we checked in until we sadly had to come home. I loved the different entertainment each night & one of my favourites were Virgo. They can sing 🎤. I particularly liked the choice of lunch in either the reef or Collins. Sizzler restaurant what can I say, delicious & also Umi, loved them both. Thank you Sugar Bay, it is just what was needed to recuperate after Covid. I will be back

Loved this place. Staff couldn’t be any friendlier or more helpful. Room was lovely although a ‘sea view’ was completely obscured by palm trees. Struggled with the air con a little and took some working out to get the temperature right. At times it was just too cold and with only a thin sheet on the bed, not ideal but got there in the end having asked for an extra sheet. Food was very good and had a decent variety. Less said about the pigeons the better. There’s little the staff can do but it is slightly off putting when they’re pecking at the serving tongs! Asian restaurant was ok. The steak house very good - I would suggest not upgrading to the larger cuts as the portions are huge. Lots of free watersports and a good array of excursions. Easy walk to Pebble Beach to watch the racehorses swim sea (albeit an early start as you need to be there about 6am). Beach was very good and kept very clean. Lots of beds and even cabanas if you didn’t leave it too late. It was a bit of a bunfight for the pool beds and most were gone by 0730 but not every day. Pool swim up bar seemed to open at random times but Tyreece was awesome and keeps you entertained while filling your glass. All in all, this was a lovely break. I’d say, with no underlying criticism, this is a genuine 4* hotel. It’s not trying to be a 5* and I think that’s fair enough.

We had the best time. The food is excellent, drinks varied and there are lots of different restaurant areas and two special restaurants (Sizzle was a fabulous experience). Nightly music is stylishly done. Staff are genuine and professional. The situation with direct access to the beach makes all the difference. Excellent value in these unstable times so definitely recommend the all inclusive- we were there 2 weeks and there was so much variety and different places to sit. We were very lucky to see the turtles on the beach (they are well looked after by turtle watch volunteers). Other guests are well absorbed and you can mix as much as you want - rooms spacious and well equipped- can’t fault this place - had a lovely lovely time - thank you Sugar Bay !
