We had a 4 night stay in Stoops, and what a stay it was. We celebrated our wedding during our stay, and the day wouldn't have been the same without stoops. The photos don't do the place justice. We woke up each morning to the most stunning views and sound of birds chirping, it is the most peaceful place we have ever stayed. The house itself is really stunning, with plenty of room for all guests to enjoy their stay. The big sittingroom and diningroom were perfect spaces for everything we needed from a sit down dinner, to an evening of playing the guitar. We arrived to the fire lit, the house heated and sparkling clean. The peacefulness of the location is also matched by the relaxed and lovely experience we had with Chris and Vicky. The kitchen is incredibly well stacked that no matter what we needed it was there. We loved the outside area for relaxing but also going for walks. Myself, my partner, our family and friends will definitely be visiting Stoops again in the future!

Just home today after two weeks in Stoops house. Would like to list the positives: -By far the biggest positives are Vicki and Denise, who run the house. Really willing to go above and beyond. They shared their knowledge which helped SO much (re: best ways to get to and from Dublin airport, where to go visit, where to go shopping...) Generally a true joy. It was a pleasure too to meet both Vicki's husband and their son (who is one very cool kid.) -This is a house with 8 bedrooms and each bedroom has an attached full bath. This was super helpful as at one point we had 16 family members there all at one time. -The views: Saw some awesome sunrises, at least one full rainbow, and, on clear nights more stars than you can imagine. -The large living and dining rooms. Uber helpful and comfortable for our reminiscing with members of our family who we had not seen in a while and/or who we never get to spend a lot of time with. These rooms provided a great backdrop for great conversations (and... intermittent goofiness.) -Having the golf course's dining room and bar nearby was great... when it was open (which, sadly, was only on about 4 of the days while we were there.) And now the "to work on's" as we say. Really, most of the things I see as needing improvement at Stoops house are more so details, most, too picayune to list here. I did relay these to Vicki, who appears to be receptive to address these. -For me, really, the biggest one, was that when we arrived, the house's WiFi signal was strong, but, the given password, would not let us access it. This took quite a while (days) to get fixed, and we felt we were working harder at fixing it than our hosts. (Once Vicki and her son joined us in these efforts, it was a simple fix.) The house is much nicer with wifi than without, because, (both a positive and a negative) the house is remote (as in, the nearest pubs & restaurants are - with the exception of the golf course - in the next towns over: Shillelagh and Carnew.) Overall it was a VERY positive experience. I feel, and I think most all of our family agrees, it was a great place to stay. Vicki and Denise, make sure of it.

We stayed in Stoops Guesthouse for a joint birthday party. There was 17 people and we had more than enough room. A well kitted out kitchen and big dining room facilitated a big banquet between us for dinner and breakfast. The surrounding area is beautiful with just 3km from Shillelagh. The hosts were extremely helpful and always available for questions no matter how small. I would highly recommenced a stay at Stoops Guesthouse, perfect for a family/friends gathering. Thanks so much for having us stay, Salley.
