Positives first: The staff were very friendly and helpful. The hotel is well situated, convenient for town and train station. The room was clean. The bed was comfortable. Ok breakfast. Negatives: Really depressing room, dark with a smallish window and cement for the rest of the wall covered by a curtain. The décor was not nice at all. I know it is probably arty, but demeaning pictures of scantily clad women in the lift is not my cup of tea. The shower sprayed across the bathroom. There were no coffee or tea making facilities. No cleaning for my 4 day stay.
Simply the best. A very nice hotel with cozy rooms, friendly and helpful staff. Close to the city center of Stavanger. Very good breakfast in an good athmosphare. Good value for money. The best hotel in Stavanger.
Upon our check-in we received a room with a dead bed bug bedbug on the carpet beside the bed. We had spots under our bedframe and was told that this was a room that haven't been used for over a year. We were told this infestation was a case from 2020 in which the room was last sanitized due to a case of veggdyr, veggedyr, bedbugs, bed bug, bedwantzen. From this point on we had to wait a bunch of times before we received a new room. Add this problem with additional concerns; We were told this new room was supposedly cleaned twice, but the floor beneath the bed was still riddled with a lot of dust and white corn-like materials. The morning after they finally got it cleaned enough. Upon receiving a new room we were given (after discovering a bed bug in our previous room), our new room had to be "inspected" the following morning, which took them over 2 hours to complete. The window was impossible to close, and it took them a long time to figure out how to close it (one entire day). During the first night we discovered that the faucet along with the shower did not have any steady stream of water. There was also some recurring moments with simply no water running at all. The total amount of waiting took a lot longer than expected since the clientele was heavily understaffed. One particular staff member did not meet our concerns with proper respect, and had an inept attitude in which they did not sympathize with our problems, in particular our waterproblem. Suffice to say -- we will not stay here another time due to the inconvenience of: the time they kept us waiting from entering our new room (over three hours in total), insufficient cleaning standards, and the messy service in terms of handling a case of a room they brought us - that had been previously or currently been infested with bedbugs. The clientele seemed stressed out, and kept pacing around whenever we saw them at work. Having only one desk and two people roaming the same terminal, the queues would often ramp up and the tasks they had to complete -- unsatisfactory. The people at the reception kept calling people to work as we went on with this in our first night. The strategy of having only one capable receptionist that could deal with our struggle seemed worrying in retrospect of this situation. We were very glad to have this person with us, since the other clients didn't share the same point of service. We would like to add that our precaution and cautious self-inspection against bed bugs was the main reason for our complaint. Not having a functional spare room is not a good standard in case of this problem.…
Cheap breakfast, the most important meal they say, the selection was less that I’ve had in a hotel for years. And the selection was budget product too, like Eldorado butter (the cheapest low quality you can buy in Norway). No room cleaning and I stayed for a whole week, dishes stayed in the corridor for more than a day, towels on the floor.. 32” television, things in the room falling apart.. this hotel use to be the coolest hotel I knew, now it’s actually the not boring hotel I’ve stayed at for at least 10 years in Norway (and I have quite a few nights at hotels in Norway). I’ll choose another hotel for my next visit. Sad, because I use to have about 20-30 nights a year at this hotel 10 years ago, but this was a sad reunion :(
Perfect location, serviceminded staff, good breakfast, i liked that the breakfast was ordered in groups according to covid-19. It was a short walk to «brygga» and « fargegata». And visit at «flor og fjære» i can recommend.
