This is no-frills, but a great, basic place to stay in Bergen if you are looking to be near nature. If you dont have a car, it is far from the city center. We had a car so we appreciated the on-site parking and we drove into the downtown/marina area (10 minute drive). The rooms are like a college dorm...

The hostel is located at the base of Mt. Ulriken in Bergen. I would suggest staying in this hostel only if you are planning to hike up Mt. Ulriken or hike the Vidden Trail. The hostel is about 15 to 20 minutes by bus from the Bergen city center. (Side note: There is only one bus stop for buses going...

The hostel has quite modest rooms, however, they are equiped with basic but useful furniture so you will find there everything what is necessary to live for a couple of days. There are also free coffe and biscuits each day. I know nothing about breakfast because we did not order one, but there is big kitchen near the reception desk...

When I first arrived at the hostel I was regretting so much for picking this place to stay, because it is not only far away from the city center, but it is also at the top of the mountain, so you can't really walk from the bus/train station with your luggage. But, once you understand how the bus service works...

Service experience - Stayed here for two nights. We had reservation in some another room for next day but on arrival they gave us the option of staying in same room, which was good as it saved us from the hassles of moving from one room to other. The service is very good and staffs are courteous. Good breakfast. On...

Location - served by a regular bus which was really useful. Supermarket just down the road. Staff - Able to speak good English which was great! When my friend had a seizure, they knew exactly what to do in terms of calling an ambulance, closing the lounge to guests, and explaining to the paramedics what was going on/translating for us....

Stayed here two nights and climbed Mt. Ulricken. If you are a backpacker, this is the place to be.The hostel is located at the trailhead, so getting up the mountain is easy. The staff at this hostel was AWESOME. Margaret, a staff volunteer, took me and two other guys into Bergen for a little sightseeing. Margaret even brought cookies and...
