It is a nice hotel to stay in Bergen. Close to Bergen's port (and Bryggen), around 5~10 minutes walking, and close to Bergen's train station (10 min walking). It has some places around to buy food, and the street has a bar near the hotel. Although some people had told me the bar is very noisy, I didn't had problems...

Staff very friendly and helpful, large tv in the room and loved the heated tiles in the bathroom. Can walk to Hurtigruten Terminal in 5 minutes as well as the city center. grocery store one block away.

We had a fantastic price for our first night in Bergen, and although the room was really very small the bed for two persons was against one wall, the stay was worth as we stayed only some ours before starting our tour to the north fjords

It's pretty much as advertised. Good wi fi though. Nothing for free and no staff after 4:30 pm so you have to navigate the self check in yourself. I did have suspicions about the noise level as both reception and the room had multiple free ear plugs. It is in a part of town with lots of bars so this...

No free tea or coffee, no breakfast included (though the price was good), good wifi, good location, clean room, really friendly staff, horrible music from the nightclub during night which stopped around 2 or 3am.

Stayed here while spending a night in Bergen, it's very central and not too difficult to find, the decor is lovely and reception staff were so friendly and helpful. Although the volume of noise at night time really does take away from everything else, as another reviewer mentioned they cannot provide the basic need of sleep to visitors, I wouldn't...

If you value your sleep don't stay at the Basic Hotel, Bergen. I'm actually writing this review at 2 o'clock in the morning, having lost 2 hours sleep from the seismic thud of the bass from the nightclub right next door. Bear in mind that we are on the fourth floor and have two sets of double glazing in the...

I'm literally sitting awake at 1:16am on a Tuesday morning at Basic Hotel Bergen because I cannot sleep due to the loud music from the downstairs night club. I'm on a second floor room. The earplugs the hotel provides do not help at all because it's bass music being blasted. When checking in, ask for a room on the third...

The nightclub located on the ground floor of this hotel, very active until 0200, really destroys what otherwise is a very acceptable property that offers reasonable accommodations at a fair price for Bergen. My room was clean and comfortable, and everything worked properly. If you do not go to bed until 2 or 3 am, this is the place for...
