Excellent hotel, even if the rooms were a bit plain and the restaurant directly opposite wasn't particularly quiet. Friendly, polite, helpful staff, a good breakfast selection and a decent TV which was useful for the World Cup. Located in a great location within easy walk of restaurants and buses, I had a good couple of nights.
Average four star hotel, well located in center of town. Comfortable room, simple but good bathroom with excellent shower. Breakfast buffet is quite good. We stayed here for three nights. On our third day we came back at the hotel at 15:00 hrs and noticed the room not being done. After a relaxation we requested the receptionist at 17:00 hrs to make up the room, but were told that house keeping had already left! Quite poor service rooms not being done before 15:00 hrs for a four star hotel.
After checking in we were assigned a shabby room with broken fixtures in shower. We immediately asked for a change. We were told initially that they could not move us for 2 days. However, when we asked again 30 minutes later miraculously we were given another room which was far more adequate. The second room was slightly larger, clean, with intact amenities. This rescued our 3 night stay in Trondheim. The hotel itself has charm and provides an excellent breakfast menu. The staff is very courteous and helpful. One downside is their showers. It is virtually impossible to avoid flooding the bathroom floor as the seals under the door are not good barriers. Also, no bath mat is provided so we tried with using hand towels which was unsuccessful at stopping the water from running out and only left two totally wringing wet towels on the floor. A thick, water absorbing bath mat would be very helpful as one could easily trip getting out of the shower.…
Very dated property. Very basic facilities. Small rooms. Breakfast is average. Everything needs renovation. Location is excellent as it is in the city center and close to train station. They do have parking facility Lot of restaurants are close by.
The hotel is centrally located and well in the middle of Trondheim. But it can be a little difficult to find the right street when you arrive by car, the reception is on one street and the entrance to the parking garage is on another street. The standard is typical of Best Western, ie lower middle class. The breakfast buffet is okay but contains nothing extra. There is free coffee in the hotel.
Took fantastic care of our family visitors during easter, also surprised by the size of the room, service and perfect cleanliness. 100% recommend booking this for yourself or your guests visiting town 😊
If you get a room between 116 and 122 and you are a light sleeper, ask for another one. We got a room with windows right onto the neighbor's hotel entrance. Both nights there was a lot of noise outside, shouting, luggage rolling, loud talking , you name it. The ventilation in the room was unexistent, so it was either to tolerate the noise or to sleep without air. Curtain in the bathroom was disgusting with brown and black spots. Toilet was leaking. Breakfast was rather simple. First day the omelette was definitely from the day before, looked all dried out. The second day was OK. From positives, the hotel is places very centrally and convinient to all the attractions. The personel was friendly and helpful, but unfortunately not when it came to changing the room to another one.
This fall I decided to bring my daughter to my old student town Trondheim to look at the university campus. I chose to live at Bakeriet with her, because this is a hotel with charm, nice service and a great location. And they delivered- as they always do! All we missed was the waffels, not the hotel’s fault- they were gone because of corona. This old bakery turned into a hotel has a great, sentral location. The town of Trondheim is at your feet from the moment you step outside. The air port shuttle bus stops just a block away and you can enjoy conserts next door. If you want a late night snack in bed go across the street and by great indian food. The rooms are nice, check in is easy and done with a smile. Breakfast has a good spread and if you have questions the staff is very helpful. This is great value for money. …
We came by car and got one of the hotel's parking places, we appreciated that. We enjoyed our three nights stay here, but if you are sensitive to noise you should stay away from the 1st. floor rooms facing the little square (with parking places) by the narrow and neighboring Brattørveita - at least if you prefer to sleep by open window in the warmer summer nights. The beds in our room were very wide and comfortable. Some of the best we have experienced in our travels. Due to the covid-19 situation we had to pre-book our breakfast time, that went fine. We changed our breakfast seating for the last morning due to our need for an early departure. The selection of bread, rolls and spreads were definitely very good, in our view. All staff we met were helpful and service-minded. And we enjoyed the relatively short walks needed to shopping, good restaurants and to famous as well as less famous sights in the city. We enjoyed our time in Trondheim and our stay in this hotel, throughout our visit.…
We stayed at this hotel for a couple of nights. The check-in and check-out went smoothly, although we where a bit disappointed with the reception-staff when we where living there. Our room was extremely hot, and with no AC we had to ask the staff to borrow a fan. When we asked for one, the reception answered very rudely. We got to borrow the dusty fan which had been standing in the lobby (probably for a very long time) which did not feel sanitarily. Also our bathroom door was very old and would not shut or lock. The shower in our room was rusty and probably should have been changed. The water sprinkled in every direction. Breakfast was smartly performed, so we got a breakfast-plate right after we sat down in the breakfast-hall. All in all, the hotel was definitely worth the cheap price we got it for. We would recommend this hotel if you want a cheaper hotel in the middle of the city. Only a short walk away from the beautiful Solsiden.…
