Spent all of February 2013 in Norway beginning and ending at The Best Western Karl John Hotel in Oslo. There are no bargains in Norway but the cost of a hotel room is a lot less shocking than the cost of everything else. The Karl Johan is located right in the middle of Oslo's center on the main street near...

We spend 4 days in Oslo and with our base in this hotel. You are right in the center and with a number of restaurants and sights within walking distance. The metro and the trolley bus is just around the corner.

Enjoyed the position/ closeness to everything but the hotel was hot. Our room had windows that hardly opened at all and faced the court yard and was very hot. Rooms are generous and clean. reception is friendly. very good location for seeing the city which was lovely. really enjoyed Oslo

I registered at the Karl Johan BW Hotell in Oslo Norway on July 27th. The hotel is centrally located in a magnificent building and well maintained. This hotel turned however into a nighttime nightmare. In fact the nearby central place was the location of music and noise until 3 AM. In addition the temperature was very high and we could...

Central location, and nice breakfast. Extremely serviceminded hospitality, however be aware of high music and disturbance from nightclub in the weekends. Check if room is in proximity before order is done! BR Rune JA-Svendsen

Don't expect sleeping in this hotel. In the same street, there is a pub and a restaurant which are very noisy. Impossible to sleep between midnight to 4 AM. I will never advice this hotel to my ennemies. In summer, there is no air conditionning. Unbelievable at that price. It is really a shame because it is in the historic...

As others have said, excellent location 10 minutes walk from the train station and 5 minutes from the wharf and main attractions. But we were kept awake until 3am in room 326 on the second floor facing the main street - although Oslo was 25+C we couldn't keep the window open. Staff happy to change our room to an internal...

Stayed here for 2 nights in July, and was satisfied with our stay. I would have given this a 3 rating other than the person at check in made a bad situation ok. We booked a family room that stated that it had two twin beds, a double bed and a pullout bed. As a family of 4 with two...

I have never stayed in such a noisy hotel anywhere in the world. I was booked to stay here for 3 nights but checked out after one sleepless night and went elsewhere. The hotel is on one of the busiest streets in Oslo. Loud and I mean loud music was blasting out until 4am below from a live music bar....

Great location - great hotel staff, always willing too help. Whilst a kettle was not in the room you can borrow one and they provide you with cups and a selection of teas and coffee Our room 307, being next to the lift had a chunk of the room taken by the lift. No noise from the lift but weather...
