We booked 3 nights at this place and upon our arrival, we realized this guest house is some kind of dormitory or an old converted hospital. The cancellation policy was 24 hours prior to our stay, and so we decided to spend one night and check out next day, and the 2 nights should have been refunded. The young person/student...

I stayed here for three nights in June when i was in Oslo. It is a former nurses home, and in some ways is quaint, and dated in places. On the plus side it is exceptionally clean and the price is reasonable for Oslo. It also has free internet throughout. I stayed in a single room with a bathroom and...

The location of the hotel is pretty nice. It takes for about 15 min to central railway station (walking), but if you don't want to walk, you can take the direct bus № 37. Gjestehuset Lovisenberg is very quite and peaceful place. The whole building is very old and decorated in the old-fashion manner, but I liked it and felt...

I have never been met with such a complete lack of interest for my wellbeing during a stay, anywhere in the world. This is a guesthouse and not a hotel, but still there was not even a trace of any service other than the fact that I was (reluctantly) allowed to check in earlier than the official office hours. Upon...

We are sorry for Your experience at Our Guesthouse. There is a difference between a Guesthouse and a hotel. Most of Our guests appreciate the quiet but Central surroundings at Lovisenberg, but we have to admit it's not for all. Some guests have found it too quiet. Our prices are from NOK 690 (78 Euro) a night for a single...

We stayed for 3 nights over a long weekend, combination of work and play in Oslo. The "guest house" was a very positive surprise! We got a huge room with en suite bathroom. Very tall ceilings, spacious and comfortable bed. The room was old, with "un-modern" furniture - as expected, had free wifi - not expected :) The breakfast was...

The Guest house is run by the Diaconian hospital in the neighbouring buildings, but you don't need to be a Christian or visiting patiens to stay there. I've stayed at the Guest house several times because of work in Oslo. I've always found the rooms clean - this also applies to the shared toilets/bathrooms. The furnitures/decoration is old-fashioned, but this...

The rooms and bathrooms were clean, pretty large, and nice, but nothing extraordinary. Very easy to get to the downtown area -- we walked but buses are very accessible. Overall, we were happy with our time there but might try a different place if we went back.

We are not churchgoers and were really surprised to find out that this guesthouse is actually run by a church organisation and I am not clear whether it was originally or is still a place for nuns / priests etc. What I can tell for sure is that we found a bible on our bedside table in our room and...

I stayed here 5 days in october while taking follow-up studies at the university of Oslo. The guesthouse is in an old building in the middle of Lovisenberg diaconal hospital area. The hospital is owned by the private deaconess foundation and the "Parish sisters home" but it operates within the framework of public health. The guesthouse has some rooms with...
