My friend and I booked this room for a nice visit in Oslo together. We were met with a staff that didn’t seem eager to help us, and with a bad attitude towards us. We had to ask about common question, like which floor our room was and how to use the slow elevator. They seemed bothered. The room was fine, but the card box that turned on the light was broken, and we couldn’t lock the door most of the time. We choose this hotel because it was cheap, but in the end, it wasn’t. However, the room and the staff were. Not sleeping here again.
Cold, rude and very unhelpful staff. Our room had a broken key holder and we struggled to lock our door when leaving. The staff was very unhelpful, rude and not welcoming at all. It is also very overpriced for the bare minimum. Basic and outdated room. I had stayed at the Comfort Hotel Karl Johans gate many times before so I expected the same standard because it is the same company but, the differences was big. The staff also seemed so unbothered when we would ask for help. I won’t this hotel again!
Perfect place to stay I thought for just the one night I was there, friendly staff and comfortable room despite it not being anything outstanding. The beds mattress topper was a bit loose so I did wake up in the middle of the night to being half off the bed, but that might just be because I move about a lot. Would recommend!
If you want a "relatively" cheaper hotel stay in Oslo (although still expensive by other European city standards) this is one of the options from a select few in Central Oslo. It is walking distance from most tourist locations in Central Oslo and from Central Oslo station. There were a few negatives. We were astonished and very amused by the money-making tactics of this hotel and hence poor customer service. We arrived 15 mins before check-in time and were told that there is a 100 NOK charge to check in 15 mins early! I was speechless! The room itself was ok. The exhaust fan and hand wash dispenser in the bathroom was broken and the latter was a problem in a small space. I asked for a backyard facing room as recommended here to reduce noise. However, I still could hear loud music on the weekend.…
The surroundings are central, but a bit rough, yet you are on walking distance to most of central Oslo from here. The hotel rooms - of the compact model, but suitable as single rooms - are nicer than I expected. Quiet, good sleep quality. The breakfast option is to buy some cold, ready-made, sandwiches in plastic wrapping and buy some packed yoghurt or juice with it. And a cup of coffee. It'll cost you as much as a full fledged hotel buffet breakfast elsewhere and as there are no good breakfast options nearby, the lack of a good breakfast is the main obstacle for using this hotel for business reasons. As a private traveller, you can always take time to find other solutions, or just wait until lunch time.
This hotel is centrally located. Free parking at bank holiday and nice staff. Also a roof terrace that is a plus. Close to train, bus and metro, and not far to main attractions like The Opera, The Munch Museum, The Deichman Library and the Central Station.
I made a reservation here and then cancelled it a few hours later when my wife said she wanted the Comfort Xpress Gangermoen, where I made a new reservation. I thought I was making the reservation directly with the hotel, but received an acknowledgment from GetARoom booking service concerning a US$154 cancellation fee. I requested an appeal considering that it was only a few hours, and they sent an acknowledgement that my request was being reviewed and eventually referred me to a hotel which has not been any help. It proved impossible to talk to anyone directly at GetARoom.
First room had loose toilet ring so I got new room. This room has a dangerous loose socket at the bed table, not sur if it’s safe to use it! No glass or cups neither coffee or wather boiler, even no breakfast only leftover from the day before…. First and last time here
Clean and basic room. No breakfast option - i think. I had an early flight and asked to check in early. Reception told me it would be possible in a few hours. When I came back (an hour before checkin), they told me the price was 800nok to receive the room early. I wish this was communicated the first time. I declined and stayed in the lobby for an hour wayching several new guests get a room without additional fees which felt a bit unwelcomed for me.
This is a good hotel with a good location. It’s Close to everything downtown Oslo. Friendly staff. The room was small but ok. Room seemed clean but looking a little closer you could see some kind of liquid marks on the wall next to the bed.
