This hotel is smaller than most but makes up for it with a GREAT staff and good food. Everyone at the front desk was wonderful. Michael and Markita, by name, but all were great. The kitchen staff was friendly and helpful. The breakfast is very good with a good variety of foods to choose from and it changes a little...

I stayed in the hotel for two nights and really liked it. The staff is very friendly. The breakfast is delicious and you can get free coffee and waffles in the afternoon. The rooms are tidy and comfortable. Highly recommended!

We loved this small, independent hotel. It is well located, within walking distance of city attractions and good restaurants. The staff were friendly and very helpful. The serve-yourself breakfast was excellent. The free waffles and coffee available in the afternoons were a nice touch and allowed us to recover from a couple of busy days. For a small fee you...

Excellent service, and a very kind staff. Good atmosphere. They actually have a fine bronze statue of "Amalie" outside the main door. The location Is central in the City. The citchen serves a very velcome soup until late in the evening. The rooms are small, but well kept.

Friendly hotel, welcoming staff and adequate facilities. Close to city centre and to the Hurtigrutten quay. Free coffee and waffles in the afternoon. Nice room with curtains that made it possible to make the room dark enough to sleep. (Important when the sun is up almost all night).

I've been staying here for a week in June 2016. The hotel is well located in the city center, close to the port and right behind the church. Does not have too much parking and I am not sure what arrangements do they have for that, as I did not came with a car. The bus to the airport is...

We stayed here prior to our cycling trip along the Arctic coast. The staff were really welcoming and helpful. Tea and coffee making facilities in the room but also free tea and coffee in the breakfast room all day. Nice and central and not far from the Hurtigruten quay.

We spent three nights a the Amalie hotel while we explored the sights and museums of Tromsø. Well located within walking distance of Hurtigruten as well as shops, buses, and across the street from the stop for the express bus to airport. The room was smallish but clean and well laid out rather, typical for a private Norwegian type hotel....

Certainly not a luxury hotel, but nice enough for the price. The room was clean but small and a bit spartan, the breakfast spread was ample enough and fair quality, and the afternoon waffles were available as promised. Good location in the center of town and close to one of the drop-off points for the airport bus.

I just returned from a stay in Tromso and feel the Amalie is a great bargain for the price. The hotel is within walking distance of everything in downtown Tromso. I had a back room which was very quiet. The room was simple, clean, and comfortable The strongest point was the friendly and accommodating staff. I was permitted to check...
