Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.

Reviews summary
This summary was created by AI, based on recent reviews.
Powered by AI
Hotel Schani Wien receives widespread acclaim for its spotless rooms and modern charm, with guests frequently commending the cleanliness and cozy atmosphere. While the rooms are celebrated for their comfort and layout, there are mentions of inadequate temperature control. The staff's friendliness and professionalism often earn high praise, although there are occasional remarks about less than warm service.
Guests love the hotel's strategic location near the train station, yet some wish it were closer to central attractions. Despite the appreciated amenities, the lack of in-room coffee/tea facilities and misleading A/C advertisements have been noted, and the breakfast options are sometimes deemed expensive.

Excellent breakfast buffet.
5 min. walk to the main station. Very friendly staff. Windows seal perfectly, you can't hear any street noise. You can choose whether the room is tidied or not, which is very practical.

This is a good solid hotel. Everything is clean and the rooms, although not fancy are well laid out in a thoughtful manner. The breakfast is expensive but very nice. I like the fact that the hotel seems to take environmental issues seriously and the location is very convenient for getting into town or to the main railroad station.

Hard to rate this hotel but I'll try. The location is well knowing that you must take public transport to reach the attractions, that is you are not close to the historic center of Vienna but you are 3 blocks from the train terminal from where you can go everywhere, if I had known this I did not select it so I do not understand how people put 5 rating on location being that the location is not good.
It's a car, no services whatsoever, no breakfast or anything. The aesthetic is cold, modern but feuge in my review and what you want to consume in the hotel is very expensive (for example breakfast is € 22 per person).
The room extremely uncomfortable, little functional, the bathroom is a graft and divided by a horrible and ordinary curtaining.
And the service is very cold. I'm not coming back.

Typical hotel very modern and bio responsible but with many deficiencies. Not very clean and with a bug. The beds on a high with a staircase that can only be lowered on its back. The bed downstairs, sofa model stone, which the bed sheet does not get to cover. The water in a room, the sink and the shower in the main room but separated x an unworthy curtain, in front of them a mirror, so that from the bed on high you see shower whoever.
They only clean your room if you put up the sign, if you forget...🤷🏻♀️
Generally friendly reception staff (although everything was)
Well located to catch the tram, the subway to think about it

On behalf of my colleagues, I would like to thank the entire team for the great organization and support of our event!
Even the initial organization, together with Hannah, was really great and professional.
On the day of the event, the preparations went perfectly, the (very tasty) food was already waiting for us during the breaks and the drinks were regularly brought and the bottles were cleared away.
Many thanks to Jozef and Ladi for your helpfulness, competence and friendly manner 😊.
We are really looking forward to the next event with you.

Perfect location right next to the station, very easy check in though provided tablets. Room was an interesting and sustainable design. Exceptionally clean. Daily cleaning is offered but for every day that you don’t opt in for cleaning, €1 is donated to sustainable charity… great idea.
Large windows and large open plan bathroom with excellent shower.
Hotel is opposite tram stop yet no noise can be heard from inside the room. Also lockers to store bags in before check in / after check out
We got a “partner offer” through booking.com which saved us over €100 on the stay so can only recommend 10/10. Was the best place that we stayed thought out our European travels
We did not opt for breakfast due to the price however it did seem to be of a very good quality.

The staff here are so friendly and helpful and the rooms are warm, comfortable and well designed. Excellent location and the accommodation is good value for money. The breakfast is pricey, but there is a Spar in the railway station which does great takeaway food. If we were visiting Vienna again, we would definitely go back to the Shani Wien.

A very cozy hotel with very pleasant staff. The connection of the bathroom with the room (the toilet is still separate) allowed for the design of a large shower. During its use, it can be separated from the room by a large curtain. The location of the hotel is very good, because it is close to the station and next to the tram line with access to the city center.
I recommend the hotel.

Hi, you go to the lowest floor of the airport to the train station. There are automated ticket machines before you get to the platform. To get to the hotel you can take the S7 to Renwegg then change to the S1 to the central station. Or if you prefer a more direct route you can use the RJ train route which takes you straight to central station and is the same price. DO NOT USE THE CAT TRAIN, it is a rip of and is double the price of the previous two routes. They are cheaper and take pretty much the same amount of time. From central station the hotel is a 5-8min walk away. Google maps is a life saver in Vienna but the hotel provides a smartphone with your room that has a maps app and a permanent internet connection. Hope you have a happy trip :D

Newtownards, United Kingdom85 contributions69 helpful votesHow close is the hotel to sightseeing buses? Also what sort of breakfast is available at the hotel?
It is not close to any Hop-Off/Hop-On buses, however, the last stop of the D-Tram is directly across the street from the hotel and it connect you to City Hall and a few stops along the Ring Road.

Newtownards, United Kingdom85 contributions69 helpful votesI will be staying five nights at the hotel in late June. I won't be arriving until mid-evening and am concerned about getting dinner close to the hotel. I would appreciate any information on restaurants and supermarkets close by and getting to and from the military history museum.
There is a shopping mall with restaurants in the central railway station as well as few restaurants around the hotel, all a few minutes walk from the hotel. The museum is also in walking distance from the hotel.
Hotel Schani Wien does have a car park. We drove to Vienna and used it during our stay. The rate was €12.
It is very clean, well lit, and secure with a gate. Guests can enter the hotel from the garage via a clearly marked elevator so moving luggage from your vehicle isn't a problem. The spaces were a bit narrow for our midsize SUV so we did have to unload our children (from car seats) in the aisle before pulling into the space. The hotel gave us an assigned parking space but there was always another car parked in it, but plenty of other parking spaces were available. On arrival, you must walk into the lobby to get a staff member to open the gate before you enter, so be mindful of this if you plan on driving in and out of the hotel a lot. You may also call a few minutes ahead and someone will come out and open it for you.
Dear Rachel K,
from Vienna´s International Airport you just take the train (ÖBB) to the main train station "Wien Hauptbahnhof". There are screens right before the platforms, where you can see when the next train is leaving, they are usually going to Salzburg, Munich and so on, so you have to check the stops in between. You have to buy your ticket before you get on the train, ticket boxes are as well right before you go down the escalator to the platforms. Get off at "Wien Hauptbahnhof" and take the exit "Karl-Popper-Straße" (NOT Südtiroler Platz). You go down the stairs and make a right. There you will already see our Hotel Schani Wien. Just follow the tram rails.
In addition you can download the app "ÖBB Scotty" and check the next connections from the airport "Wien Flughafen" to the main train station "Wien Hauptbahnhof". This app also helps finding directions, while getting around in Vienna.
I hope I could help you?
Best wishes and we are looking forward to welcoming you soon
Your Schani Team
