An average hotel wrt room and facilities. But its very near to any kind of public transport like tram or buses. Even ottakring metro station is just walking distance away. Should be explored by those who are visiting very first time in Vienna.

Eventhough it was an old hotel, it had elevator, WiFi and included breakfast, maybe it's not the best hotel if you are going to spend time there, but Viena has lots of things ti do soI needed it only for sleeping and it was okay.

Room: Got a large-sized room which didn't smell like cigarettes, free wifi and beds were quite clean. Hotel seems to be maintained in proper condition, apart from the fact that it's a little old. The hotel itself is located 15 minutes away from Stephanplatz by the U3 train, and a 5-10 minute walk from the Ottakring station. Service: After a...

I have stayed at this hotel more times than I can even remember from working in Vienna. Its an 'ok' hotel, the staff can be quite abrupt, and the decor... Well I tend to call it fawlty towers... However it is within easy access to Vienna (15 mins on the underground) which is a short walk away, has 24 hour...

Easily accessible, short walk from subway, and right across a bus terminal, but apparently not in a good part of town, but we didn't noticed it and didn't bother us. Room was fairly clean, but floors were not cleaned everyday. Staff is friendly. Hotel room felt a bit cramped. Room layout not the best. Noise from the corridor could be...

If you have any respiratory illnesses you don't want to stay there. We had a nonsmoking room but the whole hotel smells of cigerette smoke. The bathroom had a vent so the cigerette smell would come up thru the vent. The hotel needs a major makeover, rugs are worn and they have stains. The paint is chipping. We were supposed...

I was staying there for a night because I had to catch the bus early the next morning, so I searched for the cheapest hotel in Vienna. I must say that the staff was really friendly and helpful and the breakfast was really nice as well, BUT my single room was full of sigaret smell which wasn't pleasant. All my...

Quiet, well-maintained, pristine in its cleanliness, my room was more than adequate. The breakfast they serve for a mere 5 Euros is sumptuous -- too much so -- and the hotel is easily and quickly reachable from the Zentrum. People don't go out of their way to be helpful, but they will answer whatever you ask. My single room had...

Staying in Ottakring

Neighbourhood Profile
Ottakring
The production site of popular Ottakringer beer brews up an exciting mix of working and middle class suburbs, Balkanese immigrant lifestyles, and lush patches of hilly woodland. The recently gentrified area around Yppenplatz and Brunnenmarkt boasts hip cafés and bars next to South East European delicacies at Brunnenmarkt street market. The dynamics of Ottakring become most apparent at its vibrant high street Ottakringer Strasse. At the top end you can feast on wine and local food in Austria’s oldest wine tavern 10er Marie. The wines are from the tavern’s own urban vineyards. Before you head upwards, make sure you pay a visit to the historic courtyards between Lerchenfelder Gürtel and Hippgasse. When locals visit Ottakring’s hilly green outskirts on the weekends they either climb up 31 meters of Jubiläumswarte viewing tower on Gallitzinberg, have a succulent Wiener Schnitzel at Villa Aurora, or reward their hiking exertions around Wilhelminenberg with a drink and a view from Wilhelminenberg Palace (now a hotel and restaurant).

“I was on the third floor, in the front, and I had early a.m. noise when the early shift came on at 3am. The hotel has heat running (it was not really cold, but I am guessing it might have been without the heat) so I had my window open, so there was frequent smoke drifting up from smokers in the areas below.”
