Spent five nights in this excellent Pension within a 5 to 8 minute walk of 2 underground stations (different lines) each a couple or so stops from the main sights. Very well placed for sightseeing but nice and quiet at the end of the day. Two reasonably priced neighbourhood restaurants serving wonderful food and a 'Time Out' recommended cafe are...

My wife and I recently stayed at Pension Kraml. We stayed in a room with a private bath. We've stayed in several B&B's in Europe - we found this to be one of our best experiences! The room was excellent, the service by the staff was friendly and helpful and the breakfast was great! While it isn't right in the...

My husband and I stayed here for 3 nights in Aug of 2007 and really enjoyed it. It's a family run Pension that is very tidy, clean, and big, but the rooms have no extra frills - for example, there's no TV and wifi and I don't think there was air conditioning either. However, it's a family run place and...

I stayed here with 2 friends for 4 nights recently and found it to be a great place. We had initially booked a room for 2 persons, but a friend decided to join us so we had to change our reservation. Unfortunately, all other rooms were booked out, but the Pension kindly added a third bed into our room. Our...

We spent several nights in Vienna and were looking for accommodation that allowed us to walk to the main sights. We caught a taxi from the train station as it is quite a walk from there. We had a huge room at Pension Kraml with our own bathroom facilities. Stephan was extremely helpful before and during our stay: giving us...

Stayed at Pension Kraml 4 nights before Christmas in 2008 with my fiance. It is a very nice family operated pension in a quiet residential area. Close (5 min walk) to two subway stations on different lines so easy to reach most major tourist attractions in Vienna. The room we got was quite spacious. The furnishing was maybe a bit...

We followed the web site directions from the Sud Bahnhof and had no difficulty in finding this gem of a Pension, located in a quiet side street between 2 main streets (Mariahilfer Strasse for the metro and Gumpendorfer Strasse bus 13A); you’re far from the madding crowd. Definitely not a centre of town location but by using either a bus...

Although located outside the city ring, this pension/hotel is in a quiet and safe region of the city, just two small blocks to Mariahilfer Strasse, one of the main shopping streets of the city. So, you will have plenty of options to eat and shop. The closest metro station is right there, in the same Mariahilfer Strasse. With just 4...

[Updated - see note at end] For the price, this is very good: clean (very clean - absolutely spotless), orderly, good breakfast. The general building is a little old (doors are scuffed. the decorating isn't particularly modern, tiles in the wooden floors can be loose, etc) and there's no TV or WiFi (although there is a communal computer that can...

My friend and I stayed here for three nights, having chosen the Pension after reading reviews on Trip Advisor. The room we were allocated (7) had its own locked entry lobby off which were some other doors but only our guest room. On entering the unit (it was certainly more than just a room) we found ourselves in a lobby...

Staying in Mariahilf

Neighbourhood Profile
Vienna’s sixth district hosts high street shopping heaven and pedestrian area Mariahilfer Strasse. The weirdest local building is probably the city aquarium Haus des Meeres, housed in one of Vienna’s six remaining World War II defense towers, and topped with a rooftop bar that offers stunning views over Vienna and the centre. One of the most historic sites in the area is the passageway of 18th century Raimundhof with its small shops and cafés. It leads from Mariahilfer Strasse to Windmühlgasse. For a glimpse into the world of early 19th century theater, visit Semperdepot, the former depository for theatre decoration, which now hosts art exhibitions and fairs.
