From the moment we walked through the door, we knew we had picked the right hotel. We were greeted warmly by the gentleman at the front desk (I am embarrassed that I've forgotten his name bc he was incredibly helpful to us.) The art work is beautiful and the lobby and breakfast room feel warm and welcoming. I review on...

This hotel offers such a nice location with a motivated and nice staff that doesnt shy away from confrontations. The hotel has a nice breakfast menu that really gives you something for the price your paying and doesnt let you down in that respect.

This is a small but very nice hotel on the edge of the Museum Quarter. As such, it was quiet but still conveniently located. Our room had all the amenities you would expect in a luxury hotel (Nespresso machine, safe, cable, minibar). The bed was very comfortable. The staff was helpful with good restaurant recommendations. Breakfast was very good, with...

Loved Das Tyrol--the hotel had a great ambiance due to wonderful collection of funky modern art found throughout the hotel. The staff was very helpful--particularly with finding a close by ski resort. Highly recommend

This was a great find! Small, but clean rooms, helpful staff and great location. Everything was within walking distance. The front desk staff spent time showing us area restaurants, sites and shopping. They also added their own personal recommendations which was an added bonus. Definitely recommend staying here when visiting Vienna.

What’s not to like? A great Museum Quarter location, comfortable and very well-equipped rooms, friendly and helpful staff, delicious and expansive breakfast, reliable free WiFi—and convenient to shops, restaurants and Christmas markets. A good value as well—highly recommend, and will definitely be back.

The Das Tyrol is a small hotel just outside the ring and thus has a very convenient location on Mariahilferstrasse. The rooms were nicely furnished and very clean. The hotel staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The breakfast was excellent and freshly prepared. The hotel is furnished with glass sculpture which is quite enjoyable--especially the totem in the breakfast room!...

Staying in Mariahilf

Neighbourhood Profile
Mariahilf
Vienna’s sixth district hosts high street shopping heaven and pedestrian area Mariahilfer Strasse. The weirdest local building is probably the city aquarium Haus des Meeres, housed in one of Vienna’s six remaining World War II defense towers, and topped with a rooftop bar that offers stunning views over Vienna and the centre. One of the most historic sites in the area is the passageway of 18th century Raimundhof with its small shops and cafés. It leads from Mariahilfer Strasse to Windmühlgasse. For a glimpse into the world of early 19th century theater, visit Semperdepot, the former depository for theatre decoration, which now hosts art exhibitions and fairs.
