We truly enjoyed our stay here. The front desk staff are so friendly and helpful. The location is excellent, we walked literally everywhere and simply left the rental car parked for the weekend. The rooms are small, but they have everything you need. Breakfast was good, including fresh brewed coffee, which seems to be a bit of a rarity for...

Just had 3 wonderful nights at this hotel and I can't recommend highly enough.. It has a private spa and sauna and the buffet breakfast is divine. The staff are extremely helpful with nothing being to much trouble. Lastly the location is perfect.. Right in the heart of the museum quarter and seconds from the nearest tube. Would stay again...

We found this hotel to be excellent. The service is excellent and all of the people working at the front desk had no problem making us dinner reservations or taking care of anything else we asked for. The hotel is in an excellent walking location and close to many attractions. The breakfast was a good selection and eggs and omlettes...

First class hotel for a city break. Good location for Museum Quarter and main tourist sites. Room comfortable, great shower, Nespresso machine and all spotless. On a busy street, but not troubled by noise. All staff friendly and helpful especially the cheery ladies at breakfast. Good selection of food continually replenished. Would not hesitate to recommend this hotel.

Phenomenal surprise. 5 star reviews are spot on. Great rooms. Wonderful breakfast. The eclectic art is marvelous. Our stay started on the Donald Duck floor. This is a great place to stay. Highly recommend. You WILL be pleased and have a desire to stay longer.

Fantastic location near museums and shopping, and an easy walk to the Hofburg and music halls. Wonderful breakfast in a bright, art-filled room -- a chance to meet the interesting people who stay here. What makes this hotel unique is the staff. They genuinely care about their guests, and they exude a warmth and charm which is rare. They are...

We choose the Das Tyrol because at the time I was booking, hotels inside the Ringstrasse were more than we really wanted to spend and I thought it would be fun to have the small hotel experience. The location works just fine, a few blocks southwest of the palace, so an easy walk to the major sites. In some ways,...

Check-in and check-out were terribly inefficient processes (one person on the desk having to deal with everyone). Otherwise, a very pleasant stay. Large, quiet, comfortable room; and a very good breakfast with eggs cooked to order. Position very convenient for both shopping and site-seeing.

Hotel Das Tyrol is a great find! Our room (50) was very quiet, despite being right along a busy street. The staff are friendly and helpful, the location is perfect. And the buffet breakfasts have everything you could want (including great cafe latte and capaccino). The rooms and halls are decorated in a very artistic way. The sauna/ steam room...

Staying in Mariahilf

Neighbourhood Profile
Vienna’s sixth district hosts high street shopping heaven and pedestrian area Mariahilfer Strasse. The weirdest local building is probably the city aquarium Haus des Meeres, housed in one of Vienna’s six remaining World War II defense towers, and topped with a rooftop bar that offers stunning views over Vienna and the centre. One of the most historic sites in the area is the passageway of 18th century Raimundhof with its small shops and cafés. It leads from Mariahilfer Strasse to Windmühlgasse. For a glimpse into the world of early 19th century theater, visit Semperdepot, the former depository for theatre decoration, which now hosts art exhibitions and fairs.
