Our son booked this hotel for us as a gift over the New Year together with tickets for the New Years Eve Concert at the Musikverein. .He originally booked it in June through an online agent. A few weeks later he was advised that the company had gone bust so the booking would be cancelled. We immediately telephoned the hotel...

We stayed at the hotel over the New Year period and were not disappointed. The location is just excellent, within walking distance of all the major attractions in Vienna. There is also a subway stop a minute or so from the hotel so getting around either on foot or public transport could not be easier. Staff were incredibly friendly and...

We stayed here for 5 nights in Room 32. The room itself has no view but it was clean & very quiet. It had got everything you need in a room including safe box, Nespresso coffee machine, bathrobes, slippers & a minibar. It is a small stylish hotel ( total 30 rooms) & each floor has different contemporary art inside...

Hotel Das Tyrol offers charm and comfort. It's location is great for sightseeing. The breakfasts offer great variety for a variety of tastes. But what is the most impressive is the service provided by the welcoming and helpful staff. We've never experienced that level of service in any hotel in any country!

This truly is a luxury hotel in the heart of stunning Vienna. It's small but beautifully appointed. Our room was so clean and comfortable, and also very quiet despite being situated on Europe's longest shopping street. Staff are very knowledgeable and friendly. The breakfast was also good with plenty to choose from. If you like a bit of pampering, you...

Very highly recommended. I spent a wonderful three nights here. The rooms are spotless, the decor stylish and the staff helpful and friendly. Breakfast's amazing - and the sauna the only one I know to feature a tropical fish tank! The location's great for tourists with the opera and major museums on the doorstep.

When I travel abroad, I love to stay in smaller, boutique hotels. They always seem friendlier and more intimate. Das Tyrol was absolutely perfect. The staff were incredibly nice and helpful. The breakfast was divine. Perfect location. The rooms were so comfortable. And we loved all the artwork. We stayed on the floor where the hallways were lined with Donald...

Firstly we can't fault the staff and the way they tried to help us, they really were friendly. Our issues lay more with room and especially the bed. It sagged so much that my husband slept on the floor. They have put new mattress toppers on the beds but that doesn't help when the actual mattress needs replacing. The room...

Dear pixi46, thank your very much for taking your time to comment on our Boutique Hotel Das Tyrol. Please accept our sincerest apologies that our hotel and its rooms with their size and matresses did not match your expectations. Our matresses are new and we know that they seem to be very soft, that´s why we put the information on...

Really lovely and nice hotel! Clean and cosy rooms. Excellent customer service, everyone is extremely friendly and great knowledge of English. We went in December and the reception and breakfast room were nicely decorated in a Christmas atmosphere. Breakfast was also up to standard. The reason why we would give this hotel only 4 stars instead of 5 is the...

Staying in Mariahilf

Neighbourhood Profile
Mariahilf
Vienna’s sixth district hosts high street shopping heaven and pedestrian area Mariahilfer Strasse. The weirdest local building is probably the city aquarium Haus des Meeres, housed in one of Vienna’s six remaining World War II defense towers, and topped with a rooftop bar that offers stunning views over Vienna and the centre. One of the most historic sites in the area is the passageway of 18th century Raimundhof with its small shops and cafés. It leads from Mariahilfer Strasse to Windmühlgasse. For a glimpse into the world of early 19th century theater, visit Semperdepot, the former depository for theatre decoration, which now hosts art exhibitions and fairs.
