The property itself is really very good for an inexpensive, comfortable stay. The beds were nice, the AC worked well, and the windows opened wide for nice flow of air. The buffet breakfast was very good with a mix of hot and cold selections, and the coffee was excellent. Free wifi in the lobby was a nice perk as well....

I stayed in this hotel for five nights in mid-August with a group of 44 people from Malta. I chose this hotel because of the good price and all the good reviews I read about it. But when I came to this hotel, I found it is still much better than I thought. It's an excellent hotel. It's very close...

We stayed here as part of a package holiday so played no part in the choice and were pleasantly surprised. The desk staff were most helpful. The rooms are simple but good. The beds were the most comfortable we encountered in Austria. The buffet breakfast was very good, and the location next to the U-bahn station and Prater was a...

Can't fault this hotel. Clean, friendly, next to Prater and U2 subway line to central Vienna. Breakfast was €15 per person but is good value due to large choice of buffet. Parking is €15 per day underground and the street walkers are entertaining to look at but not obtrusive . Would definitely stay again.

I stayed here at the end of a cycle tour from Passau and was surprised at how good it was, given that the price was very low. The rooms are simple but comfortable, spotlessly clean, and well insulated for sound from outside. Best of all, they are air conditioned - a blessed relief in the hot weather! The staff are...

Great location close to the Messe Prater (U2) underground station. Takes 10 minutes to the centre of Vienna, very easy to navigate. Hotel room was clean, bed huge, air conditioned, perfect for sightseeing, close to Ernst Happel Stadium, Prater amusement park. Great breakfast and the staff were lovely and helpful. We also found the street walkers highly entertaining from our...

Perfect location, right beside metro (purple line), amusement park, delicious and bountiful breakfast, and if you're in the market for a prostitute try can be found around the corner. We arrived in Wien via train from Prague. Took the local train a few stops and hopped on the metro. Very easy to navigate. Hotel room was very clean, very friendly...

We stayed there for just one night before we left Austria, and having been in Trend Hotel Anatol some comparisons were made. For me the placement of Trend Hotel Messe is not really good, it's close to Prater but further away from downtown and there is nothing in the vicinity except Praterpark, and prostitutes in the night. We came to...

Front desk service was very good - helpful and knowledgeable Breakfast had lots of healthy options and staff were very friendly room was very comfortable for single occupation Only downside was the 34cm TV and lack of cable or english-language channels contrary to other commentary, the street walkers were highly entertaining from my fifth floor vantage point Overall - a...

We stayed here for 3 nights. The location was great - right near an underground subway. Upon arrival, the hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. No issues at all with the check-in process or with anything else during our stay. Our room was spacious (by European standards) and had everything we needed (we aren't super high maintenance people, but...

Staying in Leopoldstadt

Neighbourhood Profile
Leopoldstadt
Welcome to one of Vienna’s trendiest quarters. The second district has witnessed a turbulent ride, from medieval swamp to vibrant Jewish quarter, from pleasure ground for the noble and humble to current hip residence and workplace of Vienna’s creative crowd. Cross the Danube Canal from the city centre and take in life on Taborstrasse with its mix of old townhouses, churches, theatres, discount shops and ethnic restaurants. Head for Augarten via Karmelitermarkt, Leopoldstadt’s trendy marketplace. Baroque Augarten itself hosts a bizarre mix of manicured hedges and flowerbeds in front of a colossal World War II defense tower, the publicly accessible 300-year-old Augarten porcelain manufactory, the palatial boarding school and funky concert hall of the Vienna Boys Choir, and the modern art museum TBA21. At its opposite corner, The Prater not only houses the Giant Ferris Wheel but blends a bustling amusement park with lush woodland, perfect for a bike tour. Further east is the old derby racing ground of Krieau.
