This surprisingly serene hotel in the very heart of the bustling Vienna takes you to a bygone era of the Austrian Empire with its high ceilings, exquisite furniture and spacious rooms, and something in the air that makes you feel like a royal. Accustomed to using indoor swimming pools, spas, gyms and all that malarkey typical of high-end hotels, we...

First time in Vienna I found it perfect as a start point walking everywhere. The rooms are big, the staff is nice. The bar is a smoking area (inside the hotel... no need to freeze outside...). I guess it's not that expensive because it needs a renovation...

This hotel is situated right where you want to be in Vienna. It is at the pedestrian area surrounded by all of the city's attractions , restaurants and cafes. It is less than a 1km walk from the airport shuttle bus. The rooms are a decent size. The hotel is very grand inside. All of the staff were friendly and...

The hotel is located in the heart of Vienna - on the territory of the ancient part of the city, bordered by the Ringstraße ring boulevard. Magnificent mansion in neoclassical style stands on the street of fashionable shops Kertner Strasse. In two steps - the medieval cathedral of St. Stephen and the Vienna Opera. Here stayed Mark Twain, Marlene Dietrich,...

The moment you realize that all the knives in your life so far have been blunt! That's where I found myself at Hotel Ambassador. Their knives cut through meat, bread and fruit like nothing I've ever seen before. I'm afraid it's irreversible.. I can no longer go back to using blunt knives and must now replace my entire collection of...

We've come here several times over the last 12 years. With one exception (a couple of years ago), it's been reliable every time: understated elegance. It shows its age in a few places but generally holds up well, keeping its past alive. This time we had one of the newer suites on the top floor, which were pretty nice although...

Upon arrival, our taxi driver attempted to overcharge us for the ride to the hotel by giving us a rate from the train station about 3x more than what he should have. When the driver started getting agitated with us and yelling in German, we went into the hotel to see if someone working there would assist us. The woman...

Centrally located. Interiors looked to be original, in excellent state with parquet floors and chandeliers, rather than faceless corporate. Large rooms with high ceilings. staff extremely friendly and polite. Breakfast 25 Euros creates a certain pressure for gluttony at the buffet in order to get value for money, but lokd to be quite high quality.

Neighbourhood Profile
Inner City
In Vienna's best-known district, pedestrian boulevards Kärntner Strasse and Graben connect you with landmarks such as the Wiener Staatsoper (Vienna State Opera), Vienna’s iconic Stephansdom (St. Stephen’s Cathedral) and the vast compound of Hofburg, the Habsburgs’ former Imperial Palace. Peek down side streets such as Annagasse and Weihburggasse, and Graben’s Seilergasse and Habsburggasse, to get a feel for the centre. The Imperial Apartments and the refreshingly demystifying Sissi Museum are must-dos at Hofburg. Spacious squares such as Am Hof and Freyung often host beautiful seasonal and antiques markets.
