We booked this hotel through British Airways . Unfortunately it’s not a Meridien Hotel but has been bought by Marriott….. The hotel is clean but outdated and lacks service. We booked two rooms and asked at the time of booking online and I also called the hotel, to have both rooms next to each other or at least near each other. They gave us a room on the 8th and 6th floor and unable to change. This morning I tried to order breakfast to the room and after waiting on the phone for 30 minutes I gave up. Hardly an apology from the hotel. To be honest, breakfast wasn’t great anyhow. Do not come here if you expect five stars. The only good thing about this hotel is the rooms are clean and the location is fantastic.
I stayed (solo) at the Meridien/Vienna for five nights, in a superior (queen) guest room with a city view, on the sixth floor. The room was adequately sized, had a large bathroom, with a walk-shower (with multiple nozzles) and separate, large soaking tub, and effective, quiet air conditioning. (I was there, in part, during a heat wave.) I turned on the TV a couple of times and, because of the shape of the room, it was 15 feet or more feet from the head of the bed, so if that's important to you, it's too small and far away to watch. It did not matter to me. The hotel has a modern, hip aesthetic in an historic building and is ideally located. It's quiet on an elegant side street near Karlplatz and the Opera and public transport. My room rate included breakfast that encompassed a comprehensive buffet and eggs to order. One night I had a late drink and snack at the bar, and had a positive experience. (The bar/restaurant was very quiet all five nights I was there.) I had very little interaction with desk staff and the ones I had were positive. When I needed a new bottle of shower gel, I used the Bonvoy app to text the staff, and it was effective. My only recommendations are minor: there should be bath salts and/or soap dedicated to the beautiful soaking tub and they should provide both sparkling and still water in the guest room.…
We stayed at the Le Meridien in Vienna for 5 nights in a rooftop terrace room. Sadly, during most of our stay it was cold and rainy, so we did not end up using the terrace really. The room was a nice size with a large bathroom. The bed was comfortable, everything was in working order and was clean. The front desk staff was very nice and provided us an option of opting out of maid service for free drinks at the bar (yes please). The hotel was located in a nice spot, close to many restaurants, museums, and public transit stops. I would stay here again, but would likely pick a a more basic room type, since we didn’t get any use out of the terrace.
We loved this hotel. We are titanium members and were upgraded to a huge room with a separate shower and large tub. it was clean and modern. good breakfast. nice bar. Amazing location! Could walk almost everywhere. Most of the staff was helpful. Some were a little surly. They don't have a dedicated concierge so had to wait in line with people checking in/out in order to talk to someone. A dedicated concierge would be helpful.
I had a confirmed reservation in a Studio Suite (using Marriott Suite Night Award Vouchers as a Titanium member) but on arrival the hotel downgraded me to a corner room, claiming it was in “my best interests” since I would enjoy the non-existent view of the park. I would have preferred if they gave me the choice but since they sold the Studio Suite rooms I assume that’s why they were underhanded about the situation. I had to put up quite an argument to be moved to my originally confirmed room category the next day. A customer should not have to spend their time arguing for that was originally confirmed. My corner room was apparently refurbished 4 years ago. It contains a major flaw that the bathroom has a window (with no blind) and there is a glass door to the bathroom from the room. This results in being awoken at 6am with bright light shining right into the room and your eyes. It makes it impossible to sleep. I have had better curtains at a Moxy or Courtyard by Marriott. This hotel is supposedly 5 stars. If you value the ability to sleep do NOT stay here. I have attached a photo showing the conditions. The room had a bottle of water that had been opened and half consumed by another guest before my arrival. This would indicate that attention to detail is not something at this property. Breakfast is average however oddly the buffet consists entirely of small side plates. I don’t particularly enjoy eating breakfast from a tiny side plate and the only logical reason this is happening is due to cost cutting. The hotel also has a “green amber red” chart for when you can go for breakfast. I’ve never seen this at any 5 star property before. It should serve as an early warning signal for the sort of establishment you’re entering. It’s a weird property and not for me. There seem to be amazing reviews here so maybe I got unlucky. I shall not be returning here and I really hope the properly returns my SNA vouchers.…
Definitely not the greatest option for a stay at a 5 star hotel, and here's why: - reception staff are not professional (if not sometimes blatantly rude) in handling situations. They're haughty and not helpful you have to drag out information instead of them telling you all you need to know about your stay. - breakfast "hall" is very small and packed and the breakfast itself is nothing special for the price you pay. - rooms give off "old grandma house" vibes (and not in a good way), the TV is archaic and when I tried to turn on my AC it sounded like an airplane engine (keep in mind this is the executive suite). The sink basin is made of fragile glass it broke in one of the rooms I booked and injured a person's foot (they didn't even send a doctor lol). If you want to stay at a 5 star hotel in vienna consider another option. The only good thing about this hotel is its location and you can find many other better 5 star hotels close to the Innenstadt and Karlsplatz. Don't waste your money on this hotel. And for the reception staff: please fix your attitudes and be professional in you workplace and dealings with the customers.…
Stayed at this hotel for 4 nights. Situated near the opera house and the hop on/hope off bus hub. This hotel is so convenient if you are a new visitor to the city. The front desk team is very professional and helpful, especially Simon. Simon is so outstanding and helpful, he went beyond his duty to help us. We are new to the city and have tons of questions (almost daily), he would always patiently listen and kindly reply, always with the most genuine smile. He is definitely treasure to Le Meridian. We will always remember Le Meridian Vienna with warm feelings because of him. Being a platinum member, we got upgraded to a suite and free breakfast. The suite is large and modern, clean and beautiful. Bathroom come with a separate tub and shower room is large. The bed and bedding is super comfy, 2 bottles of free water provided daily. Special thanks to Sabena for help flipping our bed to make it firmer. Overall, nice high end hotel with good service. Breakfast is good but not the best. Location is excellent!…
Absolutely Beautiful Modern Hotel perfectly located in the heart of the Ring in the center of Vienna! We ended up with this AMAZING junior suite that we called “the rock star suite”! We had the most lovely server named Anna and a wonderful omelette chef that took unbelievable care of us each and every morning! He is from Mallorca and he was such a joy to see each and every morning. One of The managers of the hotel, Richard, is an incredible man that went above and beyond for us each and every day. He took such pride and commitment in his position… his number one goal was to make sure each of his guests received the highest level of care. I truly believe his talent should be utilized in training all Hotel managers on exactly how to provide top of the line customer service and care. Thank you to Richard for having made our time in Vienna one of the most amazing vacations we’ve ever had. A special thank you to Nina , Allie, and this young man with family in California for their amazing customer care! We loved this hotel and we will only stay here when we visit Vienna. First class elegant hotel!…
I have had the worst stay in Europe on this hotel they stolen my money in the room without any action from the management I faced an accident in the room by their bad furniture , the water basin broken and cut my leg and they did not send me a doctor , they send a worker to warp my leg they treat us very bad , and I inform them I want to call the police they did not take any action add to that the boring rooms they have , boring furniture and TV this hotel don't deserve 5 star hotel , nothing in the hotel give a good impression , the workers are not trained to deal with the gusts , they are rude and giving promises without any honesty , like the worker Richard and Johan how promise to act and call the police for the money stolen and they did not . any way this is my advice to any body how think to visit this hotel , please take my advice and don't try .…
