Atypic hotel , you feel at home in magnificent rooms . In a building from the end of the 19th century, rooms are like appartments, wooden floors, high ceiling, double windows, double doors, all in a modern decoration. The staff was very kind. This is the hotel to be in Vienna

Booked this hotel as a getaway with my girlfriend. Been to Vienna a few times but never stayed at this hotel. The neighborhood (Besierk 7) looks a bit rough, but the hotel is amazing and was in a perfect walking distance from the town centre. Got the most amazing suite (the black one in the pictures), and the most excellent...

Dear simon_rostin, thank you for your review! Great to hear that you loved our Felix Suite, one of Matteo Thun's finest rooms in our house. Indeed the 7th district is very young and artsy - a true representative of the charming and creative atmosphere of contemporary Vienna. Safe to explore day and night - for sure there is always something...

The Alstadt Hotel is a warm and cozy hotel. The ambiance is a blend between modern and cozy/homey. The staff approachable, give great advice for new tourists, and enthusiastically carry out your requests. The breakfast spread has a decent selection and saloon (where breakfast and tea is held) is a relaxing place to dine and converse. Fantastic Hotel!

Altstadt Vienna is a great luxury boutique hotel with a lot of personal touch and character. The room we stayed in was very clean, had everything we needed in it, and felt special. The staff was very helpful and friendly and everything overall was great. We had an issue with our shower drain, and when we mentioned it to the...

My husband and I spent Christmas at the Altstadt Vienna and loved it. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful, the room was super cozy and sexy--and that bed was wonderfully comfortable. After an afternoon of sightseeing and visiting the Christmas markets, it was lovely to return to the hotel and have a drink in the lounge or retreat to...

Vielen danke a Hotel Alstadt für allies! I stayed here 20 years ago with my Austrian grandmother and loved it then. Today, it's fantastically modern with the most kind and attentive staff that I've ever encountered. The food is delicious as is the natural spring tap water! If you stay in Vienna, stay here; you'll be thrilled, relaxed, and happy!

Overall great customer service. Room was colorful and artsy. + to decor -worth staying if you like a litttle pop of color! Location is a bit of walk from uban- not too terrible but not so close. Long hallways to room, can get a bit confusing. Went to sit in tea room for tea (which were compliments of hotel) but...

The hotel catch my heart! It isn't a big and impersonal hotel, it a typical and storical bulding, renovated with a touch of modern design. We stayed there during the christmas period and it was perfect to breath the atmosphere: there was a big christmas tree in the salon of the breakfast, the fireplace, the afternoon thea with homemade cakes...

Hotel located in a quiet location walking distance from city centre. Staff very friendly and always happy to help by booking restaurants and taxis for us. Amazing room (slightly dark) and delicious breakfast. Free afternoon tea and cake was an excellent extra! Thank you for a lovely stay. Would recommend to anyone.

Staying in Neubau

Neighbourhood Profile
Neubau
Vienna’s art district, Neubau buzzes with galleries, arts and crafts, trendy restaurants, avant-garde shops, and cafés. Neubau’s Spittelberg quarter with cobblestoned Spittelberggasse and Gutenberggasse make for a perfect stroll alongside Biedermeier houses and art shops. Don’t miss the historic courtyard at Amerlinghaus with its typical Pawlatschen galleries, a perfect hangout on a warm summer evening. Museumsquartier is Neubau’s undisputed highlight: the former Imperial stables house various top museums of 19th to 21st century art. If you love interiors, head for the Imperial Furniture museum (Hofmobiliendepot), one of the world’s largest furniture collections. Find your favorites among a dazzling array of Baroque, Biedermeier, Art Nouveau and Modernist chairs, sofas, cupboards, coat hangers, foot stools and wash basins. No weekend visit would be complete without stopping by a local café on a weekend morning for brunch.
